DU JAT 2022 Counselling: Rank List

NTA evaluates the performance of all the test-takers in DU JAT and shares the scores with Delhi University. The university prepares a rank list with the composite score compiled based on Class 12 best four scores and normalised scores. Admission into DU JAT participating institutes are based on the ranks secured by the eligible candidates. Ranks are allotted to the qualified candidates based on the following parameters.

DU JAT Counselling 2022: Editing of Preferences

Candidates need to add college and course preferences while filling the DU JAT application form. With the start of the counselling process for JAT based admissions, DU JAT qualified candidates are given an opportunity to edit preferences they filled during the registration process. Candidates can make changes in their preferences after analysing their rank and predicting the college allotment they might get. The edit facility is available within a stipulated timeline. The college allotment is done based if the rank of the candidate aligns with the college cutoff.

DU JAT Seat Allotment List 2022

Delhi University allots colleges to the candidates in three rounds followed by spot allotment rounds if the seats remain vacant. The varsity considers the college-course preferences of the candidates along with the ranks secured by them. Allotment list is released with the names of candidates and the allotted college in three rounds.

DU JAT Counselling 2022: Allotment Orders

Candidates whose names appear in the DU JAT seat allotment list can also find the allotment order in the admission login portal available at admission.uod.ac.in. If any of the preferences is allotted to the candidate, he/she must apply for admission even if the allotted seat is not from the first preferred college and course.

In cases where the candidates who have been allotted a seat does not apply for admission within the stipulated period, the allotment will be cancelled. Also, such candidates are debarred from future allotment rounds conducted for JAT based admissions.

DU JAT 2022 Counselling: Allotment List to Admission Approval

As discussed, Delhi University releases the allotment lists and the candidates have to apply for admission. Followed by expressing the interest to apply based on the allotment order, colleges will evaluate the documents of the candidates. If the college officials find all documents in order, the principal of the college will approve the admission. Candidates who get approval from college will find an option to pay the course fee.

DU JAT Counselling 2022: Allotment List to Rejection

If the documents are not sufficient are not appropriate, the college officials will contact the candidates via email or a call. In case the college does not find the candidates eligible, or the documents are not in order, rejections will be made by specifying the reason for rejection. If candidates find any error in the judgement of the college, they can approach the Grievance Committee at the college or at Delhi University.

DU JAT Counselling 2022: Payment of Admission Fees

Candidates need to pay the admission fee after they get approval from the college. In case the candidate has already been admitted to a college under Delhi University, he/she can cancel the same and pay the admission fee for the JAT based college allotment. Candidates are automatically directed to a webpage for the cancellation of the existing admission. The fee paid for the previous admission is adjusted against the admission fee to be paid as per the allotment.

The counselling process for JAT based admissions remains the same for all three rounds. Candidates who do not get any allotment in the first seat allotment round are considered for the subsequent rounds of allotment. 

In case an allotment offer is made during the first or second round of allotment, candidates will get an option to opt-out of the reallocation after paying the admission fee. Candidates who are satisfied with their allotment and wish to finalise the admission must choose the ‘Opt-out of further reallocation’ option in the admission dashboard appearing immediately after the fee payment.

Candidates who have been allotted a course or a college other than their first preference and wish to wait for the subsequent rounds can do so by not choosing the opt-out option after the fee payment.

NOTE: Only the candidates who do not choose the ‘Opt-out of further reallocation’ option will be considered for subsequent rounds of DU JAT seat allotment.

Besides the three rounds of DU JAT seat allotment, Delhi University conducts spot allotment rounds if the seats remain vacant. Candidates need to apply fresh for the spot allotment rounds even if they had participated in the regular allotment rounds. With the fresh application of spot allotment rounds, DU JAT qualifiers are also given a chance to edit course and college preferences. DU JAT spot counselling process has similar stages as that of DU JAT regular counselling rounds. The counselling process for spot allotment is mentioned below.
