Border Security Force (BSF) is the centrally controlled paramilitary force which is dedicated to protecting India’s land borders, preventing illegal infiltration and trans-boundary crime. Working as a dynamic and exclusive unit for diligent protection of Indian border, BSF statured as one of the world’s largest border guarding forces. Recently, the Union government proposed to club BSF and all other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS) to form an integrated body called ICAPS ( Indian Central Armed Police Service) to bring them on equal footing with Civil services and recruit the officers through UPSC. Hence, in upcoming years, a career in BSF will gain momentum and be ranked on par with other civil servants.

No specialized courses are available for the aspirants to join BSF. Each rank has different educational qualification requirements.
