After 10th, he can opt for Diploma courses in Computer Networking, Diploma in IT and networking, Diploma in Computer Engineering and networking, etc. He can also opt for certificate courses provided by CISCO such as CCNA, CCNP, Certificate in Networking and Ethical Hacking, etc. These certifications are offered in India by many institutes. Some consider the eligibility criteria as 10th pass, while others enrol students after higher secondary or Class XII.

After 12th, a student can join a graduation degree with networking specialization such as B.Sc (Hardware and networking), B.Sc (Networking Technology) BCA (Hardware and networking). If he joins engineering, he can go for B.Tech in Computer Science (Networks and Cyber Security) or B.Tech. in IT and Networking. Simultaneously, they can opt for Diploma courses in Computer Hardware Maintenance, Computer Networking, and Security or Diploma in IT and Networking.

After graduation, many students go in search of job opportunities as a network engineer but the opportunities are quite low. However, after graduation, there are options to dive deeper into the field by opting for a master’s degree in Hardware and networking or M.Sc. in Networking Technology. Engineering graduates can take up M.Tech in IT and Networking, M.Tech in Networking and Cyber Security. There are PG Diplomas in Networking Technology, Hardware and Networking and Advanced Diploma in Networking Technology.

Apart from academic knowledge, a person should have an excellent understanding of networks, network protocols, recent changes in the functioning of systems, troubleshooting skills, etc.
