Job Profile
Construction managers
- Work on residential, commercial, civil, industrial, and environmental construction projects including roads, bridges, dockyards, airports etc.
- Oversee project design, hire and supervise workers, commission contractors, and monitor supplies
- Prepare budgets and estimates
- May take charge of segmented activities- building construction, electrical, heating systems, air-conditioning and plumbing, or site clearing and excavation of the land, landscaping and road construction etc.
- Use their knowledge of the construction site, equipment required, materials, suppliers, subcontractors etc.
- Hire and manage specialty trade contractors needed for plumbing, electrical and carpentry work
- Plan, schedule, direct and coordinate activities on construction sites
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Report progress to clients and keep control on the time line for project completion
