Career as Electronic Engineer

In India, a fresher Electronic Engineer is offered a salary of around Rs 2.5 Lakh to Rs 5 Lakh per annum. Qualification, work experience and performance are the prominent factors that would determine the level of salary the candidates would be offered. For Diploma courses 

A candidate should complete 10th standard examination with mandatory subjects such as Mathematics and Science. It’s a 3-year full-time course, and the candidate is directly eligible to be admitted to the 2nd year degree course of engineering after obtaining a minimum 50% marks in their final examinations. 

For Degree courses 
 

• 10+2 Science stream with compulsory subjects’ Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics 

• Minimum of 50% marks are the required passing marks to be eligible for Electronic Engineering diploma, UG, PG or doctorate course

• Entrance examinations such as JEE, AIEEE and others are conducted at the national level and state level

• Some of the colleges opt for the Common Entrance Test (CET) as well

• Admissions to any course of Electronic Engineering is completely merit-based

• Masters degree can be pursued after completion of B.E. or B.Tech with a minimum 50% aggregate marks in the finals

• A doctorate can be pursued after completion of post-graduation

A candidate can opt for Electronic Engineering as a diploma course or as a degree course, postgraduate and doctoral courses are also available for electronic engineering in India. Courses of Electronic Engineering offered by various universities and colleges are as follows

• Diploma Course in Electronic Engineering - A diploma course in electronic engineering is a 3-year full-time course after completion of 10th standard with specialization in subjects such as mathematics and science. 

• UG Course (Bachelors of Technology) – A bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering would give extensive technical training to the students to be prepared for industrial work. A bachelor’s degree course focuses on conceptual learning, theory and applications.

• PG Course (Masters of Technology) – A postgraduate course would help the student to specialize in the field of their interest and gain industry knowledge. It is a two-year course after completion of graduation. 

• Doctoral Course (PhD) – PhD is a 3-year course for the candidates who have completed their post-graduation in electronics with a minimum of 50% marks throughout the course duration.
