Q:   Is B.A. at AJC Bose College a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what stands out:

Pros:

* Helpful teachers: Most reviewers praise the teachers' qualifications, knowledge, and willingness to help students.
* Industry-ready curriculum: The course curriculum is designed to prepare students for the industry, making them employable.
* Good infrastructure: The college has a stable Wi-Fi connection, modern classrooms, and decent labs.
* Scholarship availability: Scholarships are readily available for deserving students.
* Friendly atmosphere: The campus has a welcoming environment, with many social events organized throughout the year.

Cons:

* Limited placements: While some students get placed, many others struggle to find employment due to limited placement opportunities.
* No dedicated placement cell: The college doesn't have a separate placement cell, which hinders job prospects.
* Infrastructure limitations: Although the college is upgrading its infrastructure, some areas still need attention (e.g., the library and canteen).
* Few extracurricular activities: Compared to other colleges, AJC Bose College seems to focus less on extracurricular activities and events.
* Average hostel facilities: No hostel facility is currently available, although plans are underway to construct one.

Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.A. courses at AJC Bose College?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Courses at AJC Bose College

Unfortunately, the placement cell at AJC Bose College does not exist, according to student reviews. This means that students pursuing B.A. courses do not have access to career guidance, internship opportunities, or job placements facilitated by the college.

Here's what students have shared:

* "Students from Science background may get some internships." (This suggests that only students in certain fields might receive some work experience opportunities.)
* "Our senior batch also didn't get any placement opportunities from college." (This indicates that previous batches did not benefit from college-assisted placements.)

In summary, the absence of a placement cell hinders the college's ability to provide its B.A. students with essential career development resources, making it challenging for them to secure employment or further education opportunities.

Review of Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College.
Placements: Students who have an average academic percentage of 60%-80% can easily get admission to B.A in AJC Bose college. The highest fee was Rs. 15,000, where the lowest fee was Rs. 10,000. Overall, the average fee was Rs. 12,000, and students can get admission here easily. Top recruiting companies for AJC Bose college were TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc. Students who have an average academic percentage of 80%-90% get placements in such reputed companies if students are well skilled for placements. The top courses offered were B.A Hons, chemistry in English and in political science.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is quite good as there is also a formation of the new building. Wi-Fi is available, and labs are also quite decent. Classrooms are advanced as projectors are placed, and the library service is also good. The quality of the hostel is average, and the food provided by the canteen is good only. In terms of medical facilities, our college is average only as it could improve. Our college hardly focuses on sports and games.
Faculty: One thing I like about our college is the teachers are very much qualified and are well educated with very much high knowledge. Their teaching quality is fantastic. The course curriculum is very good and is improving from time to time also. I feel that it makes students industry-ready. Semester examinations are not very much difficult as students can pass easily after studying quite moderately. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I have chosen B.A as I feel that this is the best course for me in AJC Bose college. The best thing about this course it helped me to pursue my career. The thing that could get better is the syllabus, as I think a lot of things are needed to be included. In our college, the events are organised very rarely, and the fest is organised very rarely. The campus crowd is high, and the connectivity is great. Campus surroundings are well mannered, and scholarships are well provided. Extracurricular activities are rarely conducted in our college.

It is a good college, and you can opt for it. You can have a great academic year.
Placements: In our department, there are no placement offers, and companies didn't come for jobs. So, none of the students from our department got jobs from our college campus. There are also no internships. We didn't have any interviews or jobs.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are pretty good, and labs are also good. Wi-Fi is available. The library is very good with many books, and students can also take books for one or two weeks. The canteen is average, but there has been no hostel facility until now. Students can attend cricket and football matches which are organised by CU by selection.
Faculty: Our teachers are very good, and their knowledge and their process of teaching are very good. In the lockdown period, they took regular online classes. They gave their own notes to help us. Our college used to take exams in regular mode. They took class tests and internal exams regularly.
Other: Campus programs should be increased. There are no such programs that happened in few years very well.

Our college is better than many others, and it provides good guidance.
Placements: There are not many companies coming to our college. I don't know anyone who got placed in my department. I don't think that any other college in our university offers many placements. The placements are very few, that too not for my department.
Infrastructure: The college does not offer any hostel. There is a library but not with a huge collection of books. Whatever the library has is sufficient for us, I think. The majority of the books are related to the courses. Our college is Wi-Fi enabled, and it is limited to 34 MB a day. Classrooms are very good, and the lift facilities are available. Labs are also quite good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, and that's the best part of the college, I think. I don't know any principal who is as helpful as ours. The professors always try their best to educate us. Teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. I think it has the potential to make the students industry-ready.
Other: Basically, I love mathematics so much, that's why I chose this course, and also, I scored 90+ in the subject. There's always room for improvement. The saddest thing is, there is no fest organised in our college, unlike others.
