B.A. (Hons.) in Geography - Batch of 2023
Offered by Acharya Prafulla Chandra College (APCC)
3.2

Our college is good, but it needs to be more developed in many terms.
Placements: I am a student of the B.A. general course with the subject combination of physical education, human development, and GE, which is philosophy. We will not receive direct job placements. We need to complete at least a B.P.Ed. course to get a job.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is average. It needs a lot of development, especially in the human development department, which needs to be developed more. Sports facilities are not so good. The gym is closed all the time.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful and well-qualified. Teachers in our physical education department are the best among our teachers. The human development teachers are not good, as they are irregular in our classes and can't teach properly. The philosophy department teachers are average.

I am satisfied because of our department.
Placements: In our college, almost 15% of students are placed. The highest salary offered is Rs.50,000 per month. The average salary offered is Rs.10,000 per month and the lowest salary offered is Rs.5,000 per month. Almost 10% of students get interested in internships. This course is offered to WBCS officers.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is very good. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Labs and classrooms are excellent. The library is top-notch for us. Our hostel and its infrastructure are good. Food quality is excellent for us. Canteens, medical facilities, sports, and games are available for our college students.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality and performance of teachers are very good. This course curriculum is irrelevant. Semester exams are excellent. The pass percentage is 95%.

This college is for art students and not good for career conscious.
Placements: The course B.A. honors are good for students with an average score. My grade is not that great, but still, I get a seat in the B.A. course. Most students in our course are very good at studies. They are already doing part-time work while going to college. All students in our course are very hardworking.
Infrastructure: The canteen is very clean and good dishes are served there. The quality of the food available in the canteen is very good. There is no sports facility. There are no medical facilities available. It is an arts college. In the library books are limited. Many important books are missing in the library.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The teachers are very kind. They are always there to help if students face any problems. The semester exams are easy as well. The pass percentage is average. Before exams, the study material is taught to students which are good.
Other: There should be scholarships given for the students who perform academically well. There should be more curricular activities as well.

Infrastructure is very good, but education-wise it is not so good.
Placements: Almost 60% or above-marked students can apply, but the placement process is not that transparent. The salary package is not discussed widely, and fresher had no expectations in salary packages. The placement process is good, but the process has many problems. There is no guarantee of placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good, and there is Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, a small library, gym, basketball, playground, garden and an auditorium. There is no canteen in our college, but there is a ground.
Faculty: All teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable, but all teachers are not helpful. There are some arrogant teachers. Extra curriculum activities are very low. Semester external exams and internal exams are not that fair because online examination results are also failed.

Review of Acharya Prafulla Chandra College (APCC).
Placements: There are no placement offers on the campus rather than education. Only academics are given importance here. There used to be some demo classes from certain companies, but at the end, no placements were offered, which is very disappointing.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very neat and clean with some minimum facilities. Wi-Fi is available for everyone inside the college campus all time. Laboratories are neat and clean with the required equipment, like biology lab or computer lab. The library is always open for everyone with sufficient books to read or borrow. Classrooms are not very clean, but seats are enough for everyone to sit with sufficient fans. Moreover, the quality of food is average but could be more hygienic. Sports and games like cricket, football, carrom and chess are available. First-aid facilities are available.
Faculty: The pillars of every educational institution are the faculty. The teachers here are undoubtedly well-qualified and also helpful, but the lack of classes sometimes leads to a disconnection between students and teachers. Every student finds their subjects interesting and find a way to succeed in that path only. Students studying arts also can flourish the life with many opportunities like teaching profession or jobs as per their choice. The semester exams are a bit difficult. The pass percentage is above 50%.
Other: I chose arts as I find history, geography, and politics very interesting. I want to become a teacher, so I eagerly opted for this course. The only thing I wanted in my course is more classes to improve my knowledge and academic performance. Campus surroundings are neat and clean. Events and fests are conducted after every 6 months by collecting money from students. Extracurricular activities like planting, dance and NCC are conducted.
