I am very much satisfied with the college and its placement.
Placements: 90% of students got placed. Average package 6 lacs. Bajaj allianz, mother dairy, emami agrotech, mahindra finance were top recruiting companies. Top roles offered were business development, FMCG Sales, Insurance Sales. 80-85% of students got internship.
Infrastructure: Wi-fi, two LAN connection per room, library, gym, basketball court, table tennis room, football ground, badminton court etc. are there. Food quality was good. Since Army command hospital was near by, so the medical facilities were very good. Sports and games were also satisfactory.
Faculty: The quality of teachers were fine. They were qualified and teaching skills was very good. Course curriculum is relevant. Relevant guest lectures were organised time to time and there were certification organized. Also various grooming session were also organised.
Other: This course is full value for money. You get a decent placement. The college should give a leverage to sit in at least two more companies post placed in one company.

I am satisfied with the placements provided and would rate the college as 4 out of 5.
Placements: Around 90% of the students got placed from college. Bajaj Allianz, Godrej Consumer Product Ltd, ITC, Bajaj Finserv were top recruiting companies. Almost 80% of the students got internships in IMRB, Standard Chartered Bank, BOI, etc. Business development roles, FMCG sales, insurance sales, etc., were the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: There were 4 lecture halls, placement conference rooms, Wi-Fi, and 2 LAN connections in every room. The library had relevant books. There was a football ground, basketball court, TT room, badminton court, and TV rooms available for both girls and boys hostel. The food served in the mess was average.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are qualified, and some were with corporate experience as well. However, the teaching skills of some teachers were not that good. The course curriculum was good. There used to be multiple session for students personality development, certification courses and various guest lecture as well.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to enter into the corporate world with all the relevant skills so that I can sustain in the corporate environment. In MBA, multiple grilling sessions are held, which makes us and our personalities ready for corporate. There were various scholarships, inter-college meets, fest, etc., held on campus.

Placements are good, and the fee is affordable.
Placements: The placement record of our college has been excellent over the past eighteen years. The placement record is almost 100% with an average salary package of 5.50 LPA. Placement drives usually start in the month of September, and by the end of November, more than half of the batch gets placed. Almost the entire batch gets placed by the end of February.
Infrastructure: There are 2 computer labs which can accommodate more than 60 students each, and these computer labs are air-conditioned and well-facilitated. Our college has a well-maintained library. There is an air-conditioned lecture hall with the latest teaching aids like high end LED projector, sound system and fast and updated computers. The campus is green, and there is a hostel with Wi-Fi and LAN facilities.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, experienced and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is really good.

Good college in terms of placements but need to improve on pedagogy.
Placements: Almost every student get placed unless they opt for higher studies or their startup. The average package offered in the college placements is around 4-5 LPA, and the highest package offered varies. In our current batch, the most top package offered is 8 LPA, but the student negotiated. The highest package offered in the previous batch was 11 LPA, which varies. Most companies offer between 4-5 LPA. We have a strength of 118 students in a batch and till now 86 have been placed. We have one more semester left, and hopefully, all get placed.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is average. There are spacious rooms. There are air conditioned classrooms which are ordinary in management courses. We have separate girls and boys hostel for some apparent reasons. There is a good mess. There is a good canteen compared to others that I have experienced till now. According to the fee structure, all the facilities are at par.
Faculty: We have some faculty members who have quite impressive corporate experience, but they are few. Teachers and students interaction is quite good at our college. We have mentors who take care of our projects and any issue regarding course and curriculum. The course has four semesters. All the faculty uses presentation formats to teach the students, and the college organises some industrial visits to get corporate exposure.

Faculty members in the college are really pathetic but the placements are really good.
Placements: Placements for our batch are very good. As of today, nearly 85% of the students have been placed in companies such as Mahindra Finance, Kirby, ICICI Security, etc. The average salary package offered is around 6.50 LPA with a variety of profiles offered in marketing, human resources, and finance sectors.
Infrastructure: The campus is decently big and environment-friendly. There are many trees on the campus. The college is segmented into various blocks, i.e., different blocks for classes, hostels, and mess. There are very good sports facilities in the college, and the grounds are maintained properly. The quality of the food is good, and they offer a balanced diet with a neat and clean kitchen. The hostel rooms are very comfortable.
Faculty: The college lags to a great extent in the aspect of faculty because of the poor quality of teaching provided by faculty members. They don't have proper knowledge about the topic or the subject. They may be qualified on the paper, but in classrooms, they are only a mere spectator. The curriculum has been recently changed, and it's not that interesting or useful.
Other: The college resides in the posh area of Alipore, so the connectivity is good. Various events take place in the college in an academic year such as Nostalgia and Bazaare. The college has a good campus crowd as most of the students are from the Army background.

Q:   Is Army Institute of Management good for MBA/PGDM?

    A:
    {Source: MBA/PGDM students & alumni}

Is Army Institute of Management (AIM) Good for MBA/PGDM?

Based on reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of AIM's strengths and weaknesses:

    Strengths:

    * Placement Record: AIM has a good placement record, with almost 90% of students getting placed. Top recruiters include Bajaj Allianz, Mother Dairy, Emami Agrotech, Mahindra Finance, and more.
    * Faculty Qualification and Teaching Skills: Faculty members are generally qualified and have good teaching skills.
    * Infrastructure: The college has a good infrastructure, with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, LAN connections, libraries, gyms, and sports facilities.
    * Campus Life: The campus is relatively big, with plenty of greenery, and offers a mix of cultural and extracurricular activities.
    * Scholarships and Internship Opportunities: AIM offers various scholarships and internship opportunities, providing students with practical experience.

    Weaknesses:

    * Faculty Quality: Some students felt that some faculty members lacked depth in certain subjects or had limited corporate experience.
    * Teaching Methodology: While faculty members are qualified, some students found the teaching methodology to be traditional, with less emphasis on interactive learning.
    * Curriculum Relevance: Although the curriculum is relevant, some students felt that it could be improved upon.

Overall, while AIM has its strengths, particularly in terms of placements and infrastructure, it also faces challenges related to faculty quality and teaching methodology. Students considering AIM for their MBA/PGDM programme should weigh these pros and cons carefully before making a decision.

Final Verdict: AIM is a good option for those seeking a solid education in management, with a focus on placements and infrastructure. However, it may not be the ideal choice for those looking for a more innovative or cutting-edge approach to learning.
