Candidates who have not cleared the 12th standard examination in the first attempt are not eligible.
Candidates appearing for the 12th standard exam can also apply on provisional basis.
Candidates who have passed, or are appearing for the 10+2 examination from a Board or University where Grade Point Average is given, must produce in writing, the equivalent percentage for the GPA obtained, from the Board/ University concerned.
Candidates who have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination by doing a part-time course or through distance learning/correspondence / externally / open school other than NIOS are not eligible to apply.

In order to fulfill the eligibility criteria, you should have completed your class 12 with maths/statistics as a mandatory subject. There is no different criteria for a science student.
