Universities Ordinance, 2004, which changed its name to Acharya Nagarjuna University. To meet the demands of the local population for higher education, Andhra University established a Post-Graduate Centre at Maddi in 1976 under the name Bala Tripura Sundaramma Polytechnic, Nallapadu, Guntur District in Andhra Pradesh.
