Shah University allows the direct admission for some of their programs like under graduate and post- graduate programs, they have direct admissions even without giving any entrance examination. As for most courses, the basic requirements should be fulfilled by the candidates. For example, for its B.Tech course, the candidates should have minimum 45% marks in 12th standard with pass in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. To pursue MBA, a candidate must have completed their bachelor's degree at the least with 50% marks. In most cases the university does a counseling where candidates can apply directly depending on their performance. But for some programs, one will have to sit for an entrance test or be interviewed.

It is not as well known across the country or as research productive as Tier 1 institutions normally are.Although it offers quality education the record of placements and relations with industries is not as impressive as the premier universities. More specifically, the average salary offer that is given out to graduates is generally about Rs 3 Lacs to Rs 5 Lacs in the first year of employment, which is associated with a Tier 2 institution.

The admission processes as to the B.Tech programme in C. U. Shah University is not complicated provided the candidate met the admission requirements. Organisations such as the university selects students directly against merit and the entrance test too taken by students. PCMB group, the candidate must have passed in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th standard with 45 percent marks (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidates).However, more option can be obtained since the university also accepts the JEE Main score for admission. There is no extreme competition through entrance exam but the students / candidates must secure good percentage of marks in +2 and in the entrance exam to have the opportunities to get admitted. It is done through a single form with the supporting documents being attached, and fee to be paid.
