The question keeps on popping up when it comes to VJTI and OAP. I feel the real question over here needs to be what are you going to get if you study at vjti or Coep? Considering ranking, if it really matters you more, then you won’t even respect IIMs and it’s alums.Answering this question, both the colleges are good and have amazing alums. Both the colleges are very well recognised in major countries such as US, Japan, Germany, etc. students of both the colleges work at best orgs such as google, Microsoft, Tata, reliance, Rakuten, etc.I have studied at GPP and often used to visit COEP to meet my friends. When I was facing to choose between one of these premiere institute, I opted for VJTI. Several factors that mattered to me are as follows:life lessons other than college lessons:Mumbai teaches you much more than Pune. You will learn aggression and hustling in Mumbai. You will get the feel of a true metropolitan culture in Mumbai.Sports: there is a lot of sport activities and competitions in mumbai as compared to Pune.Sea: marine drive is way better than khadakwasla if you want to feel peaceful.Mumbaikars are way more helpful than punekars. You can search about this on the net if you want, especially when you are from bhusawal.daily life lessons:Students from all the districts of Maharashtra go to vjti and Coep. However, there is no groupism at VJTI. At Coep, you can recognize a final year student’s region from his tone of marathi or English. This is due to groupism. At hostel, kolhapur guys prefer to stay with other students belonging from kolhapur and so on. At vjti, this is not the case.Vjti has a way better cricket ground and football ground. If you think you are going to Coep and vjti to study, then you are like any other student. Play sports and learn qualities that classrooms and books can’t teach you. Sports at vjti is better than Coep.Exposure. At 2nd and 3rd year, everybody is gearing up for gre, mba, mpsc, upsc, or getting a good job at best companies. This happens at Coep too. How does this differ at vjti? As there is no groupism, students help each other. And these results differ with huge number every year considering the students going to MS, getting good placements and also MPSC and UPSC.Personal results:Everybody works hard to get good pointers. Unfortunately, I never scored above 7. However during placements at Rakuten, I had 7 other guys from Coep with me for a single seat on the final day of Rakuten. I was the one who got selected with other 3 guys from VJTI selected on previous day.Later on I have worked with guys from Coep, vjti, and iits. Here is what I have observed:Vjti: guys are good at tech and also love to do management work. Climb the corporate ladder faster.Coep: really good techies. Became core team engineers and leaders.IIT: these guys go on the product side where they can contribute their ideas.

For OBC, you should aim for more than 90-95% in your Diploma final year. I suggest you contact the college directly for more information about their admission procedure and eligibility criteria.I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
