As far as placements and education are concerned, from my point of view a NIT is far better than a reputed state government college. Its my personal suggestion (as I'm from VNIT), that the environment and facilities at VNIT are too good.

Hello Athul,
It's very nice to see your desire to go in for master of engineering after completion of your diploma. For getting admission in College of Engineering Pune, you will have to wait for the announcement by the Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra, on their website for opening of registration for diploma holders for admission via lateral mode. The admissions in Maharashtra are based on the marks of Diploma and your chances of getting admission here will depend on the marks you have obtained in Diploma. More the marks obtained, the better are your chances of getting admission in your desired Institute. Just wait for the announcement on the website of Directorate of technical education government of Maharashtra.
Best wishes to you.

Doing B.Tech From COE, Pune requires clearing MHTCET. You can just check the eligibility criteria of MHTCET and then evaluate the situation and proceed accordingly.

Hello Mayank,
Admissions in COEP is done via MHCET not via JEE mains. There are various criteria for admissions of outside state students so do check their official website for more info.

Hi Dear,
COEP and VJTI both are very old colleges in India and in Asia as well. These two colleges are the best for B.Tech in computer engineering. In terms of placements, it is all well as highly reputed companies come to both of these colleges. For B.Tech, many people say that COEP is good because it is situated in Pune and now a days, Pune is a developing IT sector. Most of the IT companies are situated here in Pune. COEP has a great opportunity for further studies. Placement from this college is as good as the IITs. Campus of this college is also good and hostel for boys and girls as well. The great thing about COEP is its academic education which is the best in this college. It has very good experienced faculty members which are very highly educated. For placement, both of these are the best but I think, it is little bit better in VJTI than COEP. But, the hostel condition and infrastructure of VJTI is not that much good as compared to COEP. Mostly, computer Science branch get the maximum salary than the any other branches of engineering. All the very best.

Hi dear,
COEP was established in 1854 and VJTI was established in 1887. Both are the oldest institutes in Asia. Both are government. Autonomous institutes. Course format and material are almost the same. Marginal difference is there in the syllabus. The campus of COEP is bigger and more advanced as compared to VJTI. More facilities and hostel available both for boys and girls. VJTI being in heart of Mumbai city, there is a shortage of hostel, which is being worked upon. In terms of infra, COEP is superior. Placement statistics are very much satisfactory in both colleges I. e. almost 100% in all the branches. It will always be suggested to opt for COEP and keep VJTI as a second option as suggested by me being a VJTIan myself. Suggested this through my personal experience.
