Most Universities follow a curriculum of spoon-feeding, teach theory, and let-off. Business Management syllabus must be a good mixture of theory and practice, and the faculty should also have corporate experience or exposure in the relevant field along with their academic credentials. The pedagogy adopted by prominent IIMs are quite different from what the universities follow. IIMs use technical notes, cases (live wire) discussions, class participation, quizzes, take home assignments, presentations, projects besides midterm, and term end examinations. In fact, these institutions through their case method of teaching. In a way, they create a corporate room within the classroom to discuss management issues threadbare.
