Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Com students at DAV College, Abohar?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

    Placement Cell Performance:

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an assessment of the placement cell's performance in securing jobs for B.Com students at DAV College, Abohar:

    * Limited opportunities: According to one reviewer, "There was no placement given by the DAV college for B.Com in 2017. At that point of time placement option was only available or given to the BBA or B.Tech students."

    * No specific data: Unfortunately, there isn't any specific data mentioned regarding the number of B.Com students placed or the industries/sectors where they got hired.

In conclusion, while the college focuses on providing various amenities and infrastructures, its placement cell appears to lack sufficient resources or efforts to secure job opportunities for B.Com students. Purely satisfied with the faculty and teachers of the college because of their operation.
Placements: About 70% students get placement in reputed companies. The package offered by the companies varies between 9300000 to 9500000 INR. The top recruiting companies visiting the college are wipro, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, HDFC Bank, etc. These companies constitute about 39% of companies visiting the college for recruitment.

It is an average college. Teachers are good, but placements and infrastructure are not good.
Placements: Placements opportunities were so few that they did not even exist.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was average. There was no Wi-Fi throughout the campus. The labs and library were so old and so far away from the classes that no student wanted to go there.
Faculty: Our college faculty members were quite good in comparison to other things. They were totally focused on our studies and took them seriously. Despite this, they also provided us with a good amount of content through notes and also from ppts that were really helpful in the exam. Our teachers did not even encourage us to get placement opportunities. They just rigid us towards academics and always tended to focus on classes and attendance, not even making us confident.
Other: Events were very low. They don't entertain events. Only 1 or 2 events happen in a year.

    DAV college abohar review .
Placements: There were no placement opportunities in B.Com. Other courses like BCA have opportunities for placements. There were no internships in our course either. However, my friend is doing BCA, so he got an opportunity from a company. The average package is around 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The departments are well organized. Wi-Fi is also available in some places. Classrooms are big in size, and the average classroom has a capacity of 60 to 70 students. The library has a great collection of books and a quiet atmosphere. I haven't opted for the hostel, and none of my friends did either. But there are some PGs near the college that charge 6k to 10k a month.
Faculty: All teachers were good to students and well-qualified. They have great experience in teaching. Some teachers were new but still very supportive to students. Teachers told us about the application of this course in the real world. Before semester exams, class tests were taken, and they were harder than the semester exams. The passing percentage is 33% of the total marks in an exam.
Other: I have an interest in accounts and economics, so I took this course. I didn't have any complaints about my course. There were some art and sports groups, but I didn't take part in any clubs or groups. Campus life is good.

I am absolutely dissatisfied due to COVID-19, but good placements were offered in previous years.
Placements: About 20% of students are studied in our course. The highest salary offered by any company is Rs. 25,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 12,000 per month. The average salary offered is Rs. 18,000 per month. Top companies that visit our college are Wipro, TCS and Reliance. Top roles offered in our course are teachers.
Infrastructure: Computer labs are completely Wi-Fi-enabled, and classrooms are very clean, hygienic and sanitary. The library has one book bank and very new books. The quality of food served in our canteen is very better and very healthy. Sports and games are the very best.
Faculty: Semester exams are very difficult here. Teachers here are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is the best. This course is very relevant, and the pass percentage is 33.33%. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course as I want to build my career in this course, i.e., in banking. The best thing about this course is our college is operating due to this course. I think the teachers' attitude should be better and improved.

It is just an average college and not good enough.
Placements: About 5% of total students in college got placements. The top recruiting companies are Accenture, HDFC Band, ICICI Bank, and PYSON. These companies select the students for placement. In my course, about 1% of the students got selected for placement and had fun.
Infrastructure: Facilities like canteen food are good but the infrastructure of classes is not as good and Wi-Fi is not available in our college. The library is very good and all books are available to help the students. All the infrastructure is just average.
Faculty: The teachers are very good by nature; they help all children very nicely in my course curriculum activities, which are very important; they help us to improve our skills and help students to be ready for the future; and they have so much fun in college that it has very much helped the staff of the college.
Other: This course is the best in this college, other than teachers who give lectures very nicely and the campus crowd is much better. Lots of events are also there in our college, which improves students confidence and skills.
