B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2019

The college has good infrastructure with quite educated faculty, but the placements are not so good.
Placements: Our civil engineering batch 2015-19 consisted of 75 students out of which only 12 were eligible for Shapoorji Pallonji placements, and they selected only 3 students. In our campus, the core branch company which visit for placement is 'Shapoorji Pallonji' which offered a salary package of 3.75 LPA. Only 3 students did intern from 'AGI Infra Ltd. a Jalandhar Based Construction company during industrial training rest of them mainly done from the government sectors like PWD, MS etc. Campus placement scene in our college for civil and mechanical is not good. Overall study level is great.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good, and they always take care of the repair and maintenance of buildings and other properties. I was a day scholar, but still, I know that the hostel conditions were quite good. Hostel had a gym, TV room, games room, and a dining hall.
Faculty: Our department faculty was very good, and all of them were PhD holders. Most of them have some years of industrial site experience, and for example, our structural and material specialist professor Dr Sanjay Goel has won the award of the youngest scientist, our Geotechnical expert teacher Er. Sudhir Jala is IIT pass out, Dr Sanjeev Naval department head was teaching at Thapar University before our college, Er. Govind Khurana is Delhi University pass-out etc. All the teachers were quite experienced and well qualified. Dr Sanjeev Naval is a HOD of a geotechnical expert. Dr Sanjay Goel is an associate professor in a material expert. Dr Sonia Chautani is an associate professor in a structural expert. Er. Govind Khurana is an associate professor in a structural expert. Er. Munish Bhutani- is an associate professor in Geotech expert. Dr Mk Kaushik is an associate professor in an environmental expert. All teachers were helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum given by Punjab Technical University was very much relevant but the books recommended were old ones, and new books must be referred to make them industry-ready.
Other: In coming days as said by PM Modi in order to reconstruct the cities to smart cities, a huge amount of engineers will be required, and its demand will increase. The best thing in this is to serve society, and new books are the thing I want to change in syllabus. Campus crowd is very good throughout the years, and many activities are done are enjoyable, including Tech fest Adavitya and annual function.

Satisfied with faculty members and teaching methods.
Placements: Placements for core branches in our college have been decreased. Since last year, companies visiting the campus for core branches are not high in number. Many companies visit the campus for computer science and IT branches with sensible salary packages. Every year, Shapoorji Pallonji Group visits our college and offers a salary package of 5 LPA to 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the library is very good. The college provides facilities like escalators, and the college is centrally air-conditioned. Labs are equipped with the instruments and apparatus required. The canteen is not as good as the tender is provided to private vendors. Hostel rooms are clean but not spacious. Classrooms for computer-aided branches are centrally air-conditioned, but students of core branches are made to study in non-air-conditioned classrooms.
Faculty: Most of the teachers have completed their PhD or are pursuing it now. They are quite knowledgeable and helpful. Teaching quality is commendable. Powerpoint presentations are used to make you understand more. Industrial weeks are organised after every few months to make expose students to the industry.
Other: Our college organises very fewer events when compared to other colleges. Every year, techfest is organised in our college. Non-vegetarian food items are not allowed in college. The college location is good. Connectivity of the college to the city is easy.

Okay. I suggest you not to take admission in this college.
Placements: Placements are negligible. Only one company comes here to recruit and they only take 2-3 students. And the placement is mostly in the south. Shapoorji pallonji comes here to recruit. They don't take interview like a interview, they make your interview like a degree viva.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. But area is around only 11 acres which is very less. Its just a school that's it. It is located in not good area. Hostel food is unhygienic and not tasty. Library is at its best. Various so called blocks have been made. DAVIET - DAV INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY though have been NAAC accredited with A grade but it does not deserve A grade.
Faculty: Faculty is at its best. All are very experienced and have great knowledge about each and every subject of their field. A specialist of concrete and steel teachers are available with alot experience. Geotechnical experts are available here. Survey camp is also conducted at the end of 2nd year. 6 months training is there which includes industrial training and software training.

Good knowledge by good mentors.
Placements: The placements here is good in other branches, and the 3-4 student got placed in our senior batch in the civil engineering and the average salary offered is Rs. 6.5 Lakhs. No student got placed in any company. Shapoorji Pallonji group is a major company who visits the college for the civil engineering.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is good as all the facilities are available here. Facilities like the Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, library, medical, sports, all available on the campus. Labs and classroom are also in good condition, and the canteen food quality is also good. Also, the hostel rooms here are good with no issues with the infrastructure.
Faculty: The teachers here are more helpful as they are highly qualified and also they have a good knowledge about the subject and about the course. Their teaching quality is also good. We also have an industrial visit in every semester. The course curriculum is also useful for us. The teacher here provides us good knowledge related to the topics.

The worst engineering college.
Placements: There are absolutely 0 placements in the civil department and few in other. Never expect a placement in civil department. They promise false placements. Students who got placed don't get their joining letters for years. The staff is pathetic, and there is no college life.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. The area is spread across 16 acres. Even my secondary school was bigger than this. There is no proper canteen, no AC in classrooms, no proper hygiene in classrooms and washrooms. However, they only focus on infrastructure and nothing else.
Faculty: My course was civil engineering, and the staff is pathetic. The staff is horrible. Internals are given by the face value. Teachers don't cooperate at all and give a lot of assignment and work which is of no use. They blackmail you and annoy you to a great extent.
Other: There are no extra and co-curricular activities. There are no sports and there is dead life in college.
