The selection is based on a combination of factors including your CAT percentile, your profile grade, and your GD/PI experience.

The calls last year were profile based, so even students with percentile's in the eighties were able to make through the campus. Prepare well for interviews, as they would be key for getting selected into campus.

Well, it is a myth that freshers do not have or have very less chance against the people with work experience. In some colleges there might be some points to be awarded for people with work experience, but I can assure you that most of the colleges including those that give weight to work experience have enough freshers in their batches and they enjoy special privileges for various opportunities being freshers.
The only thing is that for many interviews while calculating the composite score some colleges award extra marks for the candidates with work experience but freshers can cover those marks by performing good in interviews and securing good percentiles in CAT.
