The institutes may have their own separate admission process, due to which some IHMs accept students, whereas others may not. It all depends upon a specific IHM, for there are hundreds of them, one located all over the entire country, like IHM Pusa, IHM Mumbai, IHM Bangalore, etc.# *Admission Process & Difficulty Level:*1. B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration (B.Sc. HHA)Through NCHMCT JEE examinations. These entrance tests are also conducted by NCHMCT, the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology.Quite competitive. This depends on your preparation to get admission. Not so competitive unless one is in the good IHMs, of course, for example, at New Delhi like IHM Pusa, in Mumbai, and Bangalore. So not so when one is badly ranked IHM.2. For Diploma & Certificate CoursesDiploma and certificate courses are available for food production, bakery, housekeeping, and F&B services.Generally, admission is direct or merit-based (based on 12th marks).Difficulty Level: Easy to moderate, depending on the popularity of the course and institute too.3. Admission to M.Sc. in Hospitality AdministrationBased on NCHMCT JEE, or direct selection by some IHMs.Difficulty Level: ModerateAdmission Factors:NCHMCT JEE score & rank for B.Sc. course Category, which category falls in General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwD, quotas available IHM one may get through (The scope of getting a Top IHM is very small) Seats Available

Admission to the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT) for the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) programme will be done according to the admission procedure of the institutes where you are applying. However, this is a general overview of it:# 1. National Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs):Admission to Central and State IHMs is strictly based on the score in *the NCHM JEE (National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination)*.It all depends on your rank, as IHMs like Delhi, Mumbai, or Pusa are pretty competitive. 2. Private Institutes of Hotel Management:Private IHMCTs are more likely to give direct admission directly based on your 12th-grade marks or through institute-level entrance exams or interviews.General speaking, they do not resemble the competition of the IHMs.3. Qualification criteria12 th Std Passed institutes have a minimal mark percentage from their 12th standard from exam, like 50%Age Eligible candidates vary about 22 years to 25 years according to the academic eligibility criteria to attain admission with respective institutes on given dates, whereas relaxed for the eligible category.# 4. Suggestion with the easiest way to get entry:Prepare for NCHM JEE* if you are targeting top IHMs. Take up subjects like reasoning, English, and general awareness. For private institutes, good communication skills and confidence during personal interviews would help you in a great way.If you open up to the idea of seeking admission in private IHMCTs, it is way easier and more or less streamlined. For high-ranked IHMs, you should prepare well, and for most of them, you need a good score on the NCHM JEE. Do let me know if you want to know more about NCHM JEE or perhaps an institute.
