Focus on your grades - Focus on your academics and don't let anyone make you believe that marks don't matter. Your primary job as a student is to study and you need to make sure that you perform that duty diligently.Explore aspects other than academics - There is no real pressure during the initial days of college and this time should be used to get your hands dirty in diverse activities of interest. Join a society, volunteer, cultivate a new hobby, start a blog, learn a new language - do anything worthwhile with your time. Learn to code even if your from a branch that doesn't involve coding. Itll pay great dividends later on. A year of experimentation should give you a good understanding of your interests and enable you to pursue them in the long term.Build healthy relationships - Your friend circle will determine the course of your college life and your career. Take your time in settling down. Maintain a healthy relationship with everyone but be very selective about the people with whom you'll be spending most your time. Also, it is important to choose the right kind of seniors for advice.Go out and have fun - Roam around the campus, explore the city and make a lot of memories. You'll never be more carefree and devoid of responsibility ever in your life. So, make sure that you have your share of fun.Take care & don't get bogged down by peer pressure - Your ideals, values and conviction define you as a person. You are old enough to decide what is right and wrong for you. Don't let anyone force you into doing or trying anything.
