Last year, the cut off for general category was 79% in CAT. This year, for attending the group discussion, the cut off for general category is 50% in CAT. But, a score of 75% above in CAT will keep you on the safer side to get selected.

Hello Aswaria, Mostly students join institutes like TIME, Career Launcher, etc for CAT preparations. You can also do the same as these institutes guide you well throughout your journey of CAT preparation. On the other hand if you are doing job at present, then you can even study on your own. Buy the study material from these institutes and do self study i would however suggest you to join the test series as it gives you a good idea about how CAT would be and helps you prepare well for the exam day Also, not belonging to engineering background has no as such difference. The way to prepare is same for the both. Identify your weak areas and work on them. All the best.

Hello Sunidhi, FMS doesn't give weightage to your past academic scores or to your work experience. Thus, they won't play a direct role in your selection. So, yes it is possible to get into FMS. Last year the cutoff was 98.54 to get a call for interview round. A final merit list is prepared on the basis of your CAT score, extempore and PI marks, on the basis of which final admissions are offered. All the best.

Hi Sunidhi,
Your CAT percentile will get you shortlist for the GD/PI round. You should have a good justification for your poor acads . else they will not cause a problem.
