The eligibility criteria for admission to Direction, Cinematography, Editing, Acting and Feature Film Screenplay Writing in FTII is that the candidates should have a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
For admission to audiography course, the candidates should have a Bachelor's degree with physics as a subject at Sr. Sec (10+2) level.

The FTII's entrance exam consists of 2 sections:
1. General awareness
2. Mental Ability
The general awareness sections consists questions related to Indian History, Indian Economy, Current affairs, famous personalities, general science, National/International Organisations etc
The mental ability test has comprehension and logical reasoning questions.

FTII JET 2018 is of three hours duration. Maximum marks that candidates can secure in JET question papers is 100. The test paper is divided into two parts such that candidates need to attempt MCQs worth 50 marks and then descriptive questions that amount for another 50 marks. Eligibility criteria for PG Diploma in Art Direction and Production Design at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) is any graduation degree. Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examinations are basically conducted to test the candidate on the specific area that he or she has chosen. More over, in the Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examinations, their will be question from General Knowledge and General Mental Ability. The maximum marks for the Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examinations are 100 and the duration of the examination is 3 hrs i.e. from 10-1pm.
There is as such no specific syllabus for the courses with regard to the Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examinations, since majority of the courses offered by the Film and Television Institute are skill based or performing art subject. In addition to that, one should concentrate on the General Knowledge part especially with regard to film media and from the world of entertainment. One should be well aware of the different socio-economic developments that are happening in and around the world. Awards and Recognition, for example the Oscars, Grammy Awards, who won in which category etc should be in the focus of the students. Then there will be some basic Mental Ability questions based on the elementary mathematics at the school level.
Eligibility Criteria for FTII Test
The eligibility criteria for the Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examination is a degree in the respective subjects from a government recognized institution or university. But or some courses like courses in Sound Engineering, students must have done their 10+2 with Physics as one of their optional subjects.
How to Apply for FTII Test?
For applying for the Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examination, one can either apply through the online mode or the offline mode. In either of the modes, the online and application fees has to be paid. The application fee for the general candidates is Rs. 2000 including OBC candidates (non-Creamy Layer). The application fees for the SC and ST candidates are 1650. In the online mode the candidates can fill up the online application form and sent the relevant documents along with two photographs to be uploaded at the institutes website. They should also send a declaration by their parents along with the documents. In the offline mode, the candidates can have a copy of the admission prospectus either by post or self along with a demand draft taken on the name of Accounts Officer FTII Pune.
