It is mandatory to appear for the accepted entrance exam, i.e. NEET PG, to secure a seat for MD at the college. After the exam, candidates must register for seat allocation through NEET PG counselling. Only NEET-qualified candidates can participate in the counselling process.

In 2022, 85 students, out of a total of 128 students were placed while 5 students were selected for higher studies.

Candidates seeking admission under the All-India Quota must register for the counselling conducted by the MCC. For the State Quota, candidates must register for the NEET PG Chandigarh counselling. While registering, they must select GMCH Chandigarh as their preferred college for MS. The counselling bodies release merit lists for various counselling rounds. These lists are based on the applicants' NEET PG scores, choices filled while registering for counselling and availability of seats.
