Read this before you take admission in SD college Chandigarh.
Placements: Placements cell of the college is not so good. There are very less placements offered by the college. I had a friend who was the topper of B.Com and got only a package of 3 Lacs per annum. This college should focus more on placements. The top companies which hire the students are HDFC Bank and WIPRO.
Infrastructure: The college campus is very clean, good and full of greenery. It offers free Wi-Fi for the students. It has one canteen, one cafeteria and one juice & shakes parlour. The campus includes a main auditorium and two small auditoriums for small gatherings and seminars. There is a medical room in the college to help the students in case of emergency. The sports dynamics of the college are not so good. There should be an indoor badminton court facility and there should be a professional team of coaches. The NCC of our college is the best in Chandigarh. New students can join NCC and make their lives more disciplined. The classrooms are a bit old fashioned but there are new classrooms also with modern facilities. The fee structure of the college is very reasonable as compared to other colleges and universities.
Faculty: The main reasons for me to get an admission in this college were the faculty and the qualified teachers. This college is good for the students of commerce. As I'm pursuing BBA, I think the syllabus is more inclined on the theoretical side rather than on practicals. This college lacks in terms of practical knowledge. They focus more on book learning. The semester exams are of moderate difficulty level and the passing percentage is 40%. The locality is also good and the area is surrounded by various schools and institutes.

A worth joining college (in Chandigarh).
Placements: The placements are not very high. Only the top scores get placed by some big companies. It is a batch of 120 students and out of which around 5 students get placed in big companies with a good package. Top recruiters were Deloitte India, ICICI, Byju's, Chegg India etc.
A lot of students got internships in different companies mentioned above.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is fine. There are plenty of rooms available for both boys and girls hostel. The facilities are great, the food is great, the canteen is nice. Basic medical facilities are available. There is cricket net, badminton net, handball net and other sports are also played.
Faculty: Yes the teachers are very helpful and most of them are postgraduate or Ph.D. holders from Panjab University. The teaching quality is very good. Our college is famous for the quality of education only. Yes the curriculum is course related. The semester are exams are moderate.
Other: I chose this college as it was one of the best college available in my area. The best thing about my course is that it gives me a better idea and understanding of how the management works. I wish there is more practical knowledge and industry visits. Events, fests are regularly held, our college is one of the most crowded college under PU. Scholarships are available too.

Overall this college is a great experience.
Placements: I don't know much about placements yet. But placements for courses like B.Com and other PG courses are good as I have heard. Since it keeps changing every year, true knowledge about this could be with the alumni or the HOD, but college does provide a lot of internships and specializations.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay but could be better. The Wi-Fi system is not that good. Sports activities and sports areas could be added or made too. The canteen and library of the college are really good. The hostel is really good, the timings can be a little bit more flexible, otherwise, it's really good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and well qualified. The college could add more, better subjects into the courses and a better way to assess the students. About the exams, since it's affiliated to PU, we have to give exams according to them, so the exams are written based and the pass percentage of our college is good.
Other: Our college is one of the best colleges in all over India, standing at rank 16th and overall well accredited. The connectivity to this city is great, the city is safe for the students. It's overall a great experience.

The college has really good infrastructure and facilities, and good placements in 2022.
Placements: You get lots of placement offers, but it is a UG course. You will not get more than 5 LPA packages. The percentage was not a barrier as it was during the pandemic. You can get a job of your preference, but you have to wait till the last. My batch was 2019-22, and the years 2020 and 2021 were corona years. Everyone was suffering, but the college made a good decision of online classes. There were regular studies and also exams were conducted.
Infrastructure: The campus is huge. The hostel is also good. There are different buildings for different departments, and some departments have AC classrooms. The campus has special Wi-Fi zones. The library is big, and you can get both offline as well as online books. There are lots of sports and games. If you are good at any game, you can contact the sports department, which will help you with that.
Faculty: The faculty members are very good. They will help you anytime. The difficulty level of semester exams is moderate as it is made by Punjab University. This course will help you to make a base for the industry sectors. You will gain a lot of knowledge from this course. The teaching staff are very friendly, and they are qualified well. Most of them are PhD holders.
Other: Every week, there are many different programs and activities, and you will love to participate in them.
