Review of Government Engineering College, Idukki.
Placements: Almost 30% of students are placed. Most of the students are placed in the computer science department. The top recruiting companies are Qburst and Infosys. The role offered is a trainee, and some are taken as the marketing team for Byjus.
Infrastructure: Classrooms, laboratories, and library are good. The Wi-Fi facility is not available right now. Hostel quality is average, and sports are not good. Medical facilities are very hard to access. The medical health center is 5 KM away from our college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Our course curriculum is not relevant, and it does not make students industry-ready. Semester exams are medium level. The pass percentage is 40%. The teaching quality is good. Faculty members are appointed by the government.
Other: I got this college by KEAM. Our campus crowd is average, and events are less. The surroundings are calm and friendly. This college is located in the woods of Idukki.

I'm satisfied because of the infrastructure, good faculties, decent placements and good environment.
Placements: About 20% of the students get placed in our course. The highest salary offered was Rs. 30,000 per month and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, BHEL, TATA, etc. Almost 20% of students got internships in TCS and Infosys companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. Labs have highly precise equipment. Classrooms are well maintained and are neat. There are many collections of books in our library. Good and friendly staff is available. Even we can access Wi-Fi. Good and healthy food is served in the hostel and the cost is also reasonable. We conduct many sports and arts events, interesting game events, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and friendly. Teaching quality is good and easily understandable. The course curriculum is highly helpful and easy to understand. These are the updated curriculum. It gives knowledge about what we are trying to study and increases practical knowledge.
Other: I opted for the course because I like electronics. I am crazy about the latest mobile technology. I want to improve the technologies that are now available. The college should provide more practical knowledge and experience. We have conducted many games in our multi fest and its quite interesting.

Satisfied with my college. Good placements.
Placements: About 35 percent of students from my course got placed in different companies during placements. The salary package given to students the highest package was about 35,000 per month and the lowest salary was about 20000 per month. Many top companies like TCS, Wipro, 6D technologies where there are the placements. Every company recruited students on to the software side. Actually companies doesn't come to our college instead of the college management takes the students to different colleges to make them attend their interviews.
Infrastructure: Speaking about the infrastructure of a department it is a good building with every facilities such as labs, libraries etc. The labs are well-equipped with every machine and every equipments needed for the students to get a basic knowledge about the courses they are studying. Each department contains its own department library with good amount of books and study materials. The hostel is a good spacious building. The food given at the mess and hostel is a good quality clean and tasty. Colleges a good canteen that only costs you small bills for food every facilities such as sports games and medical facilities are available at our college.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are well qualified. Specific teachers are assigned for specific subjects they are skilled on. The quality of the teaching college is good. The curriculum is relevant it gives us the basic knowledge about the electronic industry.
Other: I took this course because of the interest on electronics. This course helps us to gain knowledge about the electronics. More practicals should be given at lab so it gives us more better knowledge about electronics. Events fests and extracurricular activities are provided by the college for giving us technological ideas. Scholarships are given to every students. The campus surroundings are ambient for students to study the climate in that area is good.

An above-average college with an ambient atmosphere and pretty good infrastructure.
Placements: A proper career guidance and placement cell is functioning in the college in order to mentor the students in achieving their dream job. The percentage of students getting placed is increasing each year. About 40–45% of the students of the last batch got placed in on-campus placements, and a lot of others got placed in off-campus interviews. MNCs and other reputed companies like Ashok Leyland, QBurst, TCS, Larsen and Toubro, etc. regularly appoint students from the college with reasonable packages.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are pretty good. They've got adequate features and facilities like Wi-Fi in all departments, a canteen, a rich library, and laboratories with new equipment. The hostels are available, which are enough to accommodate all girls, but there are uncertainties in the case of boy's hostels. The college does not own any of the present boys hostels, which are taken on a contract basis from other government departments. The mess is pretty good, and quality food is served. The maintenance of girls hostels is done accordingly, but not for boys hostels, as they are not owned by the college. I would recommend that boys stay at private hostels, which are plentiful in the nearby areas if you consider cleanliness. Sports and games are average here, but gradually an interest has been taken by the college authorities to enhance sports and games. A basketball court and volley ball court are inside the college, along with provisions for games such as table tennis. Annual sports and games are conducted every year. The college was NBA accredited recently, for the next 4 years. A proper transport facility is available in the college for transporting students, even into hostels in remote areas.
Faculty: The faculties are highly qualified professionals with many years of teaching experience at various government colleges. They make the classes interactive. Even though the course curriculum is somewhat irrelevant, the faculties take active responsibility for preparing students on an industry-based level with application knowledge of the theory subject. Skill enhancement clubs and organizations are present in the college to provide students with additional knowledge for the course and introduce them to high-end technological advancements. These organizations work under the supervision of reputed faculties of the college itself as nodal officers. The exams are conducted by the college, which has no role in determining the difficulty of the exam; however, faculties prepare students to perform their best for the exams.
Other: The Tech-Fest of the college, 'ADVAYA, is a renowned multi-national technical fest, as is the art festival, 'KAVETTAM'. One aspect of the college is its geography. It is located amidst the breathtaking beauty of Idukki District. A lot of tourist attractions are right near the college. So a peaceful atmosphere is maintained at the college. Active student politics are there at the college in order to stand up for the students. Other technical clubs also function at the college.

It is a good place for those who want to study. They can have fun and can learn at the same time.
Placements: About 25% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 80 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA. Wipro, Infosys and TCS are the top recruiters for our course. The top role offered in our course is an electronics engineer. About 40% of the students from our course got placed, and BHEL, Keltron and many electronics-based companies offer internships.
Infrastructure: It is a government engineering college. Our college provides free Wi-Fi facility, but we didn't get for our mobile phones. However, if we have laptops, we can access Wi-Fi in classrooms. Lab attendants are always ready to conduct classes at any time we want. Hostels are fair to stay, and the food served is good to eat but not best. But the food served in the canteen is a little expensive compared to other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified because most of them are permanent staff members who are graduated from top colleges in India. They also got a PhD and have a minimum of M.Tech degree in their fields. The course curriculum is good. I think students need more practical knowledge than theory to help them to get ready more for the industry.
Other: When I was young, I was keenly interested in electronics, so I chose this course. The best thing about electronics is it always changes with time. I wish that our college should conduct more practical sessions. IEEE is a good organisation for students to get developed and to make good connections with others. Doing internships in other colleges also will make you more confident.
