To join Government Polytechnic Bhojpur, students must pass the Diploma Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE). The BCECE Board, Government of Bihar, conducts the DCECE.  To be eligible for first year admission, students must have passed 10th grade from a recognised board. 12th grade students are also eligible. The BCECE Board makes the final decision on applicant eligibility.  The DCECE is conducted annually to shortlist candidates for admission to full-time and part-time Polytechnic, Paramedical dental (PMD), and Para Medical (PM) courses.  Candidates can apply by filling out an application form on the college's website.
