Here could be several reasons why you were not selected for admission despite having a good CMAT score, strong academic record, and work experience. Some possible reasons are:
Competition: Admission to MBA programs is highly competitive, and institutes receive a large number of applications from candidates with strong academic and work backgrounds. So, despite having a good score, you may have missed out on admission due to stiff competition from other candidates with even better scores. Admission Criteria: MBA institutes have their specific admission criteria, which consider various factors such as academic scores, work experience, extra-curricular activities, and performance in group discussions and personal interviews. Therefore, it is possible that you may not have scored well in other aspects of the admission process, such as group discussions or personal interviews. Choice of Institutes: You may have applied to institutes that had high cutoffs or were very competitive, which may have made it difficult for you to secure admission. It is important to research and apply to institutes that match your profile and have realistic cutoffs. Category: Some MBA institutes reserve seats for candidates from certain categories such as SC, ST, OBC, and PwD. If you do not belong to any of these categories, it may have reduced your chances of getting admission.
