There is no such preference. It will all depend on your best of 4 and the criteria that you follow like change of stream, etc.

If you belong to general category, then chances are less for Hansraj College, uou can get some other colleges. But, if you have any reservations, then you can easily get HRC. All the best.

With general category, 88.4% won't help you to get in Hansraj. But if you have reservations then you might have a chance.

Dear Surbhi,
To be honest, it depends on a lot of factors that is on the subjects, you have studied and the course you want to apply in.
Generally, DU sees best of 3 subject percentage which includes English and Maths in most cases, and I think yours will be above 85 for sure.
Hence, you have 60 to 70 percent chance of getting in a decent college.
Remember, course matters, college doesn't.
Eventually, everyone will get same degree having University of Delhi written in it and not your college.
All the Best.

Dear Vansham,
In case, you can get a chance in Hansraj College, go ahead without thinking much. Kolkata has poor student crowd. Moreover, the faculty of SXC has degraded. I don't know much about Delhi University when it comes to faculty, but given that most of the books authored by the professors of DU, sell like hot cakes all over in India, for all professional exams, I can easily assume, that the professors must also be pretty good there. SXC, however, teaches you one of the most important things in Life I. e. discipline. You wake up 5 AM and reach sharply by 6 AM. There are no excuses for securing low scores in examinations, and above all, you can easily work at any place, once college gets over at 10 AM.

North campus colleges generally have a greater percentage cutoff and that also depends on the course which you want to take admission in. You can try for south campus colleges. They are also pretty good. Otherwise, you can keep a check on merit list as colleges release a number of lists and each list has a lower percentage than the previous one.
