Q:   Which is a better college among Hindu College, LSR and Hansraj for BA (Hons) admission?

A:

All these colleges under the University of Delhi, namely Hindu, Hans Raj and LSR are considered to be the top colleges for Arts, Science and Commerce education. The following table contains a fee range and median salary comparison of Hans Raj College with other top colleges of DU offering BA & BA (Hons) courses:

College Name

BA & BA (Hons) Fee Range

BA & BA (Hons) Median Salary

Hans Raj College

INR 540*

INR 6.50 LPA

Hindu College

INR 52,680 - INR 52,770*

INR 7.11 LPA

LSR College

INR 46,110 - INR 77,610*

INR 6.5 LPA

*The above fee and salary information is taken from unofficial sources and hence, is indicative. Students are requested to visit the official website to get more details on the same.

Based on the components mentioned in the above table, Hans Raj College seems to be the most affordableoption of the three. However, that is not the same. After adding all the other admission fee components in the tuition fee, the total fee for BA (Hons) will go almost to the level of LSR and Hindu. However, the median salary offered at all the three is closed to each other with Hindu being on the top. Hence, students are required to consider the return on investment by comparing the overall fee and return salary to make a final decision. The final decition must also depend on the availability of the specialisation that a sudent is willing to get into and other factors, such as location proximity with their residence, preference of course available, among others

Your option for the best one.
Placements: The students who were good in tier academics got the placement. The top recruiters come in like Accenture, jaw, HCL, AON etc. Minimum packages are 8 Lacs per annum and the highest package is 35 Lacs per annum. Our college environment is good.
Infrastructure: The Hostel seats are limited and it is provided based on your merit if you apply for it. Both boy's and girls' hostels are separated by a distance. Merit is decided based on the exam marks that you have obtained in your CUET exam and the cutoff likely.
Faculty: The Teachers of the Hindu college are supportive of the students. They are well-qualified teachers. Their quality of teaching is also good. If you looking for a good college life with fun and good studies you should always go for this.

Review of Hindu College, University of Delhi.
Placements: The placements in Hindu College are good. Although it is confined to some technical courses like commerce, chemistry, physics etc. The placements are good enough. The college has its own placement cell called Diksha, which organises a placement fair every year.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, including library, labs, auditorium, lawns, gardens, V tree etc. The college stands true on its infrastructure parameter, and you will get everything here. There are hostels for boys and girls. There is a recently built research center too.
Faculty: The faculty, curriculum and exams are quite good and regular. You will feel good once you take admission here. Faculty members are the best, and the professors are highly educated. Some are from DU, JNU and a few are from foreign universities. The fee is reasonable. You have to pay around 15,000 for 1 year.
Other: Hindu is full of life. You will find everything that you expect from your college life. Hindu is one of the best colleges in India. The campus crowd is diverse. Campus life is good. Freedom is at its peak. The institute provides a platform for different talents to move ahead. This more than a 100-year old institute will certainly help you build your personality strong and help you to evolve as a better person.

Hindu College proves itself the best for science and humanities streams.
Placements: I am a student of 2024 batch, B.A. Honours History in Hindu College. Since I am still studying, I can't say anything about placements. But Hindu College is definitely a blessing for those who intend to serve UPSC. There is a dedicated society named Buniyaad for UPSC in Hindu College. The college really offers an inspiring environment for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the History course is not satisfactory. The classrooms are much smaller than expected, and in addition, these classrooms can accommodate around 35 students at maximum. There is no AC-enabled classroom for the history department. However, there is a dedicated library solely for the history department. The hostel facilities are up to the mark. The food offered is the point to be noted. Food is provided four times a day which is of decent taste and remarkable hygiene. However, the boys' hostel is not AC-enabled yet. Whereas, the girls' hostel is newly built and has AC.
Faculty: The most attractive thing about Hindu College is its faculty. Professors of Hindu College are well-qualified, renowned and knowledgeable. All of them are recognised all throughout India. Moreover, professors are more friendly and helpful than expected. Papers offered in the history are quite interesting and helpful for those who want to create a history in their profession as well. Moreover, there is a dedicated paper named History Of India, which is helpful for UPSC. Semester exams are pretty easy, and the pass percentage is always around 99% because the students are school toppers.
Other: History is my favorite subject, and that is the sole reason for selecting history for graduation. Most importantly, I feel proud of my decision because Hindu College has proved my decision right. The only thing which needs to be improved is the infrastructure for the history department. The rest is up to the mark. However, Hindu College is not very active in fests because they prefer calling alumni on such occasions instead.

It is a good college but has certain problems.
Placements: The college brings in good companies for placements. Packages are phenomenal for certain courses. But students of humanities courses like history and philosophy naturally do not get many placements. If we observe at the college level, it is great, but there are few opportunities for people who are from subjects like history.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the history course is average. There is no specific department infrastructure. The department functions are carried out in the seminar hall only. The departmental library is too old and definitely needs additional books. It is in the classroom only with a few almirahs adjusted over there. The college library is good and spacious and definitely gives a good environment. Hostel infrastructure is up to date. There is a sports ground as well.
Faculty: To be frank, the college lacks faculty. The department faculty are not really as one would desire. The teaching is hardly student-centric. In the end, if one can study on their own, they are quite welcome here. It would be very difficult to rely on faculty. The curriculum of Delhi University, which is followed in our college, is excellent and scientific. Semester exams are held in college only. These are easy to get through. Some understanding and some cramming can help one get above-average marks.

Hindu College is one of the prestigious colleges and it truly lives up to its name.
Placements: Humanities field did not have any placements in the college. Other departments such as economics and commerce did have them. Many companies were invited for placements, and the placement rate was average. Many of the students preferred to go for higher studies in academia rather than for jobs. Students also had the liberty to look for internships themselves. We got both big companies and independent startups, and the number of students getting recruited differs every year.
Infrastructure: The college has an updated library. The classrooms were old, and the conditions can definitely be improved. Some departments had ACs. There were good facilities for sports and various cultural societies. Labs of physics and chemistry can also be improved but were average. The canteen food was affordable and hygienic.
Faculty: There were excellent faculty members in every year of my college. They were experts and professionals in their respective papers. We were taught rigorous courses covering a wide range of topics within the papers. We also had foundation courses in the first year that had a general approach to subjects.
