    Overall experience was good.
Placements: Placements are good at this college, and they put a lot of effort into getting every cadet placed during their courses. However, I would recommend that everyone get a sponsorship before coming to this college. Do your research before coming here, and if it's a good fit for you, then it's one of the best places you'll ever find.
Infrastructure: Labs are good, but machines in SIC could have been improved. Overall, other labs are okay. The instructors are also very helpful and knowledgeable. Electrical labs are among the most maintained labs here. AMW is well maintained, and we can find all the necessary stuff there.
Faculty: Most of the marine engineers who come as faculty are experienced and knowledgeable. However, there are times when they send power plant experts to teach us about our subject. I am not saying they are bad, but they lack marine experience. Overall, we will find some of the finest engineers here as our teachers.

My experience at HIMT has been incredible Excellent. The training I received given confidence in me.
Placements: In our batch of GME 25, almost 85 percent of students are placed. The remaining members are also going to give interviews. Many top companies are recruiting us; some of the companies are Synergy Shipping Company, IMEC, and Feet Management.
Infrastructure: In HIMT, the infrastructure is very good. Coming to the facilities, they have a Virtual Reality (VR) lab where we can get real-time experience of what is actually going on with all the machineries and engines. All the classrooms are digital and centrally air-conditioned.
Faculty: Here in HIMT, all the faculty are mainly Chief Engineers and Captains. The way of teaching changes compared to B.Tech teaching. Here, all the classes are interactive with each other, and they teach us how to sustain on board.

It has good placements, facilities, supporting and cooperating staff, faculty members & management.
Placements: I have done my GME from Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training in the batch of 2024. In my college, around 80% of the students are placed with different companies like Synergy, VR, Feet Management, M.Sc. and many others. Some Cadets are also sponsored by IMEC which is one of the biggest organisations in the industry. Apart from sponsorship, the college has many post sea courses.
Infrastructure: The Institute has a good Wi-Fi, accommodation facilities, smart boards for teaching etc. Good quality of food is available in the mess and canteen, Medical facilities are also available along with different sports, games, and initiatives taken up by the Institute. Each classroom, and labs have air conditioners.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful having good knowledge and skills along with being supportive. Their teaching qualities are good. One needs to study in order to pass. Passing percentage in the first semester was 95% and in the final semester, it was 100%.
Other: From childhood I was very fond of Machineries and their working mechanisms. So I chose my career as a marine engineer. There are my events, scholarships, and extra curricular activities conducted by the HIMT Institute.

Had a great year spending my time at HIMT.
Placements: Our batch’s 80 percent cadets were placed in reputed companies like M.Sc. Damico, IMEC cadets, VR Maritime, Synergy, etc. These companies selected cadets after tough interviews and examination patterns leading through psychometric tests and medical as well.
Infrastructure: Here we were given good facilities throughout our course. There was always medical help available, good accommodation along with good quality food was provided. For the one year of our academics, we were given facilities of smart high tech boards that cleared our concepts very easily.
Faculty: During our course, we were trained by experienced faculty who have worked on ships for so many years and have utmost competency in both theoretical as well as practical areas. We were trained under Captains, Chief Engineers, etc. Our course is guided by knowledge as well as passion.

Q:   What is the selection process for B Tech and what is the minimum 12th class percentage required?

    A:

The selection process for B.Tech programs can vary among different colleges and universities with some elements like Educational Qualification, Entrance Examination, Merit list, Interviews, Reservation Quotas etc.

Normally, we can get admission in private B.Tech colleges after passing class 12th but for getting admission in good/reputed University or colleges we have to give an exam called JEE Mains (Joint Entance Exam). According to the marks scored in this exam, we get placement in B.Tech colleges.

It is common for universities to set a minimum eligibility criteria, often ranging from 50% to 75% in the aggregate of the relevant subjects. But the minimum percentage required in the 12th class can vary from institution to intuition.
