Unlike most Polytechnic institutions, Hirasugar Institute of Technology (HSIT) does not provide 100% scholarships to all students. However, it offers scholarships and fee reimbursement to the students belonging to the SC/ST category and the economically weaker section as per GOV policy on a merit basis only. Also, students who scored well in KCET or COMEDK get a little discount on the fees they have to pay. Scholarships are offered depending on institutional and government funding and the percentage offered is dependent on the student category and performance.

According to the latest information, the KCET Last Round Closing Rank (General-All India) ranged from 91188 to 214876 for all the specializations of B.Tech. The cut off may vary for different specializations of B.Tech according to their demand. As per the general category cut off, the highest cut off was for B.Tech in computer Science and engineering. The most desired course for OBC category was also CS only with closing rank of 91188. Yes, aspirants can avail admission for B.E./B.Tech at Hirasugar Institute of Technology (HSIT) other than KCET using COMEDK or management seat. For COMEDK the students have to obtain a rank For the Management quota they have to fulfill certain criteria as 45% in 10+2 for the PCM stream. The charges for management quota seats are generally slightly higher than the students excised through the entrance exams.

These exams are generally conducted in June and august for odd and even semesters respectively. For admission into the Hirasugar Institute of Technology (HSIT) to do the UG programmes like B.Tech one needs to have 45% in their 10+2 (PCM) and clear the KCET or COMEDK examination. For PG courses like M.Tech Requirement is B.Tech/BE with a minimum of 50% Marks, and qualifying in PGCET/GATE is mandatory. The seats are allotted depending on the performance in the entrance test conducted and then the counselling session.
