But the worth of the degree totally depends on the industry and role you are targeting. Losing an on-campus job or switching careers can be made easier with skills, a network, and the reputation of IBS. But you may need extra internships to catch the eye or networking efforts to make it a little better. Most important will be to stay proactive in skill development. The IBS Kolkata MBA programme has a tuition fee of INR 9.11 lakh. Comparing it to the placement figures of 2024, the MBA programme secured an average salary of INR 6.7 LPA. Even if a student is placed in the top 10% of salary packages, still the average salary package is around INR 8.77 LPA.This means that the placements round isn’t able to fully recover the tuition fees of the programme. Candidates looking to take admission should know that top recruiters during placements are some of the most reputed companies in India, such as ICICI Bank, Deloitte Tax Services, TATA AIG, Axis Bank, etc. Therefore, even if the salary package offered is not that high the placements are in highly reputed companies where there is a lot of scope for earning more. Candidates can make their own decisions accordingly.
