After the online registration on ICSI and fee payment, the study material is provided to the students. Candidates get eight months to prepare for the entrance exam. In addition, it is compulsory for students to undergo seven days Student Induction Programme (SIP) within six months of registration and before appearing in the CS executive programme. After eight months of the course duration, the candidate can take the exam in any attempt (June or December). Admission to the course is valid for three years and hence, all the students must clear the CS foundation exam within the given period of time.

It is conducted 4 times in a year January, May, July and November.CS Course: Candidates must complete the three levels of the CS course - Foundation program, Executive program, and Professional program.Education: For the Executive Program, applicants must have completed Class 12. Graduates and post-graduates who want to directly register for the Executive Program must also qualify in the CSEET. The Foundation Program is open to 10+2 pass students from Arts, Science, or Commerce streams. The eligibility criteria for the CS foundation course is Class 12 or equivalent pass in any stream with 65% aggregate for economically backward students and 85% for academically bright candidates. While the executive course can be pursued by any candidate with a class 12 or equivalent exam pass certificate with the required aggregate/CS foundation programme pass/foundation exam pass of the institute of cost accountants of India/Common Proficiency Test (CPT) of ICAI, or Arts, Science, Commerce graduates/PG (excluding fine arts). Additionally, the applicant shall not be less than 17 years of age. Furthermore, for ICSI CS professional course can be only pursued by candidates who have cleared the CS executive exam. It must be noted that the Company Secretary courses cannot be pursued by candidates who have passed the qualifying exam in the fine arts stream.

Candidates wanting to apply for the certificate course in "Valuation of Securities/Financial Assets" must be either ICSI/ICAI/ICoAI members, ICSI executive course students or above, insolvency professionals, or holders of postgraduate management degrees. The institute can also ask for the relevant documents at the time of the application form filling. Hence, candidates must have an original or a copy of the important documents.
