Though IFMR is known from finance, other specializations like operations are equally good. IFMR has distinguished faculty in the area of operations. Though the percentage of students opting for operations is comparatively low, the placements for operations is pretty much the same as that for other specializations. The campus is full of buzz and energy throughout the year. IFMR has academic student committees like Finance Club (Arthasabha), HR club (Synergy), Marketing club (Markaholic), Operations (Sanchalan) and other non-academic committees like External Relations, Placement Committee, Food and Hostel Committee, Laasya (Cultural Club) and so on. Apart from committees, IFMR also has music, dance, theater and photography clubs. All club and committees are student-run. A number of events and competitions are held in the campus. The Cultural club organizes festivals and DJ nights for the students. Apart from that, movies are also screened every week. The campus itself is a very peaceful and beautiful place to stay at.

Both the colleges have their own especially. If you are from technical background and want to shape your career in a managerial role then SITM is your best bet. It has 100% placement since inception and both the batch size as well as the fee structure is on a lower side.
IFMR is famous for finance. So, if you are from non-technical background then go for IFMR.

Moreover, Pune is more easy to get acclimatize to than Chennai.

Yes, TCS recruited this year from IFMR but we can't disclose the offer made by them. You will know about the offer and role when you join the college by placement cell of the college. Other IT companies recruited from the college were Accenture, Capgemini, I-Nautix, Cognizant, Infosys, etc.
