No, candidates who have filled out the CAT form are not required to fill out any other form for IIM Ranchi. 

• The candidate can select which IIM he/she wants to apply for during the form-filling process.
• The CAT score will be sent to all the IIMs selected by the candidate and then the IIMs will shortlist the candidate based on that score.
• If the candidate qualifies for the CAT cutoff, he/she will receive an email from the IIMs regarding the further process.
• CAT forms are available on its official site iimcat.ac.in from August till September of that particular year and the exam is conducted in the month of November.

For admission to MBA (or PGP) 2024 batch at IIM Ranchi, the CAT test will be conducted on November 26, 2023. Aspirants of IIM Ranchi are required to appear for the exam in Computer Based Testing mode at the allotted test centres. CAT exam 2023 will be held in three slots:

Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM

Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

Evening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Earlier, the CAT exam used to be of 180 minutes with 100 questions but in 2020, both exam duration and number of questions were reduced due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, starting CAT 2022, the total number of questions stands at 66 as part of CAT pattern.

To be considered for the MBA programme at IIM Ranchi, individuals need to complete the CAT form. If an applicant has already submitted the CAT form, there is no need to fill out a separate form for IIM Ranchi. The procedure for applying to CAT involves the following steps:

1. Visit the official website.
2. Click on the 'new registration' option.
3. Provide personal information such as name, date of birth, nationality, phone number, and email ID for registration.
4. Use the received ID from the email to log in and access the application form.
5. Fill in personal and academic details.
6. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and a scanned copy of your signature.
7. Choose the desired courses and select IIM preferences.
8. Indicate your preferred test city for the exam center allocation.
9. Make the payment for the application fee using a credit/debit card or net banking.

The CAT also serves as the entrance exam for the MBA-HR and MBA in Business Analytics programmes offered by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi.

During the MBA placements of IIM Ranchi in 2023, the highest salary package offered internationally was INR 67.00 LPA, while the highest domestic package stood at INR 35.50 LPA. Additionally, the average package offered during the placements was INR 17.30 LPA. The campus witnessed a total of 124 visiting companies, and 76 pre-placement offers (PPOs) were made during the process.

The 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) offered by IIM Ranchi is a highly competitive programme that combines undergraduate and postgraduate education in management. To be eligible for the programme, candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) in aggregate. In addition to the academic eligibility criteria, candidates must also appear for an entrance exam to qualify for admission to the IPM programme at IIM Ranchi. The entrance exam for the programme is usually conducted in the month of April and is called the Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT). The IPMAT exam is a computer-based test that assesses the candidate's aptitude in quantitative ability, verbal ability, and logical reasoning. The exam consists of two sections, each with a duration of two hours. The first section tests the candidate's quantitative ability and data interpretation skills, while the second section assesses their verbal ability and logical reasoning. It's important to note that IIM Ranchi also considers other factors such as past academic performance, extracurricular activities, and personal interview performance in the final selection process for the IPM programme.

The interview process of IIM Ranchi is held under CAP (common admission process). The candidates who qualify for CAT are further invited to the personal interview round. The PI is conducted virtually and exact dates and information for the same is communicated to the shortlisted candidates in due course. The personal interview round is conducted to assess the candidate’s leadership skills, subject knowledge, problem-solving skills and communication abilities.
