Good campus life and placements but sports take a backseat in PG courses.
Placements: Almost all students get placed with a decent package. The highest package goes around 50lpa including company shares. Top recruiting companies were Adobe, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Mastercard, IBM. Most of the students got internship and later PPO from IBM Bangalore. Top roles offered are generally for Data Scientists.
Infrastructure: Food quality not good in the hostel mess. Other facilities like Wi-Fi, lab availability are amazing. Medical facility is also good and the campus has a hospital to treat the college students free of cost. Classrooms are good, spacious. Sports and games though take a backseat in PG courses.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and have expertise in their respective subjects are active researchers in their respective domains. Teaching quality however varies from teacher to teacher. Some are extremely good whereas others don't meet the expectations. The course curriculum especially the lab assignments and projects are really good because of which students learn a lot here.

Overall satisfied but a little improvement is required.
Placements: Placement drives conducted in our college were good. Approximately 99% of the students from our batch got placed and that too in good companies. The highest salary package offered was around 54 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was around 16 LPA. The average salary package offered was around 24 LPA. Almost all the major MNCs like Microsoft, Google, IBM, Uber, Qualcomm, Samsung, Visa, and others marked their presence during the first phase of the placement season. Most of the companies were recruiting either for a data scientist or software engineer. Some of the companies also offered the role of an analyst. There are fair internship opportunities available on the campus. There is a placement cell in the college that works really efficiently.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is pretty decent. All the classrooms and labs are well-equipped with Wi-Fi facility and air-conditioners. But we experienced issues with the Wi-Fi often during our stay at IIT KGP. The library of KGP is said to be one of the largest libraries so that one can find books of all domains over there. However, I have visited the library only once that too during our initial days to explore. Regarding hostel rooms, it depends on which hostel you have been allocated. Some of the hostel rooms are pretty spacious for three people to stay while in some hostel two people need to share the room where only one person can accomodate. Since the hostels are allocated randomly and that too even before your registration day at the college, it entirely depends on your luck. Even, once they are allotted, they can't be changed. So you need to be well prepared for the worst case scenario. Extracurricular activities like sports and games, etc., are conducted here. You will find dedicated grounds and equipment for almost all the major indoor and outdoor games. Even there are good coaches available to help you anytime. Even this year, IIT KGP will be hosting Inter IIT Sports Competition, so it's a big opportunity for all the sports enthusiasts. Now, lastly coming to the most important part of the infrastructure, i.e., medical facilities. I would say it's the most overlooked part of the entire campus. Though a government hospital is present inside the campus, it's of no use. Most of the doctors available there will prescribe you medicine without even listening to your health issue completely. So the judgements of the doctors over there cannot be trusted upon fully. Moreover, in case of major health issues, it is advisable to either go to Kolkata or your hometown for proper treatment.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful in some cases but not all. They are highly knowledgeable. The teaching methods include interactive lectures, practical assignments, and feedback based changes. Industry exposure depends on the guide or professor under which you're doing your project. The course curriculum is useful, but not enough.
