The selection of candidates for admission to the 2023-25 batch of MBA at VGSoM (IIT Kharagpur) is a two-step procedure. Applicants, who are shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria are called for an online Personal Interview (PI). Final admission to the MBA programme is then offered on the basis of a cumulative score of the application rating (AR), performance score in CAT 2022, and the candidate’s performance in the online PI process. Admission to the course is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. Students seeking admission must qualify both these entrance exams for admission to IIT Kharagpur. After the application process is over; students have to go through various selection rounds for final admission. For BTech, JEE Advanced scores are considered for the selection of candidates followed by JoSAA Counselling which is conducted for seat allotment to BTech. For BTech, MSc, BSc and M.Tech courses, JEE Advanced, IIT JAM and GATE scores are considered for the selection of candidates. Additionally, admission to PhD and MS by Research is based on UGC NET/ CSIR NET and other national-level exam scores. After the selection rounds, JoSAA, COAP and CCMN Counselling are conducted for seat allotment to BTech, M.Tech and MSc courses. A merit list is released by the institute for announcing the names of the candidates shortlisted for certificate, PhD and MS by Research courses followed by a counselling round. The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech (Hons) in Industrial Engineering at IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology for other than General category are - 2049 for OBC, 1189 for SC, 698 for ST, 885 for EWS, and 159 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.
