B.Sc. in Data Science and Application is offered by IIT Madras as a part-time education mode in order to provide an opportunity for working professionals and students who cannot pursue full-time courses due to various constraints such as work commitments, financial constraints, etc. The part-time education mode provides flexibility in terms of time and allows individuals to balance their work and study commitments. IIT Madras offers this B.Sc. Programme through its Continuing Education programme (CEP), which is designed to provide higher education opportunities to working professionals, and individuals who cannot pursue full-time courses due to various reasons. The programme is offered through a combination of online and classroom learning, which enables students to attend classes on weekends or after work hours. The B.Sc. In Data Science and Application programme offered by IIT Madras through CEP is a three-year programme, and the curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in mathematics, Statistics computer Science, and data Science. The programme is also designed to equip students with practical skills in data analytics, machine learning, and data visualization, which are highly sought-after skills in the industry. The part-time education mode allows individuals to pursue higher education while continuing with their professional and personal commitments. Admission to IIT Madras for B.Tech CSE is based on the JEE Advanced score. However, there are other ways to get admission to IIT Madras without JEE Advanced score. One way is through the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme which is for foreign nationals and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in engineering in India. Another way is through the Lateral Entry Scheme which is for students who have completed their diploma in engineering and wish to pursue a degree in engineering.
You can find more information about these schemes on the official website of IIT Madras

IIT Madras offers a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), which is one of the most sought-after undergraduate programs in India. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, IIT Madras does not offer a specific specialisation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) at the undergraduate level. However, students pursuing the B.Tech CSE programme at IIT Madras have the opportunity to explore various subjects related to AI and ML as part of their curriculum. The CSE programme at IIT Madras covers a wide range of topics, including computer programming, algorithms, data structures, computer architecture, operating systems, databases, computer networks, software engineering, and more. These foundational courses provide students with a strong base in computer Science, which is crucial for understanding and working in the field of AI and ML. Additionally, IIT Madras offers elective courses and research opportunities that allow students to delve deeper into AI and ML. Students can choose relevant elective courses in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, data mining, and pattern recognition. Moreover, IIT Madras has research centers and laboratories that focus on AI and ML, providing opportunities for students to engage in cutting-edge research in these fields. Students can also participate in projects and internships to gain practical experience in AI and ML applications. It's important to note that programme offerings and specializations may change over time, so I recommend checking the official IIT Madras website or contacting the institute directly for the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding their B.Tech CSE programme specializations.
