The Institute has over three campuses namely a 365-acre campus at Roorkee, a 25-acre campus at Saharanpur, and a 10-acre campus of Greater Noida Extension Centre at Greater Noida. Under the Free Messing scheme, a student can avail of a free messing (only basic menu) facility and a pocket allowance of INR 250 per month. Such students are also exempted from payment of hostel room rent. In case a student does not seek free messing, he/she gets a pocket allowance of INR 1,000 per month. To avail Free Messing scheme, a student is expected to fulfil the following conditions:Applicant belongs to SC or ST category.The applicant is a student of BTech, BArch, Integrated Dual Degree (IDD), Integrated Master of Technology (IMT), Integrated Master of Science (IMS), and BS-MS programmes admitted through JEE (Advanced) or MSc programmes admitted through JAM.The Gross Income of parents (Father and Mother or Guardian) during the previous financial year is not more than INR 5 LPA.

IIT Roorkee under its Department of Management Studies (DOMS) offers a two-year MBA programme across five specialisations. It is a full-time residential programme which is divided into eight terms. MBA admission at IIT Roorkee is offered based on CAT score, followed by the performance of candidates in the PI round. However,  JEE Advanced-qualified IIT Graduates with CGPA 7 or above on a 10-point scale are exempted from the initial shortlisting process and are directly called for the PI round. The selection criteria is divided into two caregories:Category-1  (Graduates applying on the basis of CAT score) - CAT score: 60%, PI: 30%, Work experience: 10%Category-2  (IIT graduates admitted through JEE Advanced) - PI: 100%Based on the above distribution the candidates are selected for MBA programme.

IIT Roorkee offers a four-year BTech programme across 11 specialisations along with a five-year integrated BTech + MTech programmes across two specialisations. The BTech course is the flagship programme of IIT Roorkee. The selection of candidates for the IIT Roorkee BTech programme is based on their JEE Advanced score. To be eligible for the same, aspirants must have completed their Class 12 with a valid score. The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats. In order to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT Roorkee, students are required to apply via JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced. The process of applying for JEE Mains 2024 consists of three steps: registration, form filling, and document upload, followed by payment of application fees.
