There are three trimesters in a year and each trimester is of three months duration. In each trimester, students are taught four core subjects and at least two skill papers including Computer, English, Legal Writing, and Accountancy. Most of the NLUs are introducing specialisation in four areas of law, namely: Business Law & IPR, Criminal & HR, Public Law and Policy, and International Dimensions of Law in the Final Year. The eligibility criteria of CLAT-2020 is given below. Eligibility criteria : As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (I. e. , 10+2 or an equivalent examination), the candidates must have secured: Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
