The best agribusiness school in India, in my opinion, is IIPM-B. The only institute offering a PGDM in food processing and business management in India is IIPM. Autonomous institute with the best teaching personnel. good link with an industry expert. nice positioning Having completed my undergraduate degree in food technology, I want to apply for admission to a food MBA program. After a lengthy search for universities that provide agri- and food-related courses, I discovered IIPM. I prepared for IIPM, and I was subsequently accepted by IIPM.

You must first know the difference between the two. MBA is a degree and PGDM is a Diploma. Note: A PGDM course offered by an Institute that is affiliated o AIU (Association of Indian Universities) is considered equivalent to MBA. So, it holds equal value. Even Iims offer Post Graduate programme instead of an MBA.
2. Syllabus: MBA syllabus is designed by universities, whereas the PGDM course is designed by the Institute itself based on market changes and requirements. Hence, PGDM course syllabus is dynamic.
3. Theory vs. Practical: Generally it has been seen that an MBA course is more of a theoretical based structure and lesser focus is on practical knowledge. Whereas, in the case of PGDM, more focus is laid on practical knowledge along with theory. And as PGDM Institutes design their syllabus as per current industry standards, they are more helpful in making the candidates corporate ready.
4. Fees: Since MBA is offered by universities affiliated institutions, their fee is comparatively lesser.
5. Extra-curricular activities and training: Reputed Institutes that offer PGDM focus on various training and extra-curricular activities for the overall development of students.
6. Entrance Exams: Usually MBA admissions are done through state-level entrance exams, whereas for getting admission in PGDM institutes one has to appear in CAT MAT XAT CMAT ATMA exams. Some institutes also accept state-level CET scorecards. To conclude, I'd recommend PGDM over MBA as it focuses on overall development of students. Tip: For PGDM, you should always try for the top b-schools like Iims, XLRI, Jaipuria Institute of Management, etc.
