It is indeed nice to know your intention of doing graduation in engineering after Diploma in Mechatronics. But, doing engineering by distance mode is fraught with dangers. This is because in the past, the Supreme Court of India has cancelled degrees awarded by many institutes via distance mode. Of course now, the situation has again changed, but you must be taking this course from a very well-known and recognized University only. There are different versions of looking at NIOS but in the end it has been established by courts that students of NIOS are as good as others and hence can seek admission in any course provided of course they fulfil other criterias if any. So you can definitely seek admission in IEMS.

It's very ambitious of you to think of obtaining graduation within two years of passing your diploma. But yes, once you get lateral admission in a three year duration course, directly into second year, you are going to get degree in two years.

It's nice to know that you are already post graduate in maths. May I then ask, why engineering now? Almost 50% of fresh engineering graduates are not finding any placements. In addition, doing engineering via distance education is illegal. I feel you should go for PhD in maths rather than pursuing this idea of engineering via distance education.
