Hello Mr.Shekar
It is a pleasure to see your interest towards IRMA.
The test on Issues of Social Concern is considered to be as important as the CAT itself. It is 'Indispenseable'.
Generally the test is conducted to assess the candidate's familiarity with social issues around the world but Indian rural in specific. Anything ranging from the Millennium development goals, now almost redundant, to the schemes and yojanas instituted by the Indian Government can be asked about.
So it has to do about how well read you are more than your aptitude.
Please do refer to the magazines Yojana and Kurukshetra. They would be of great help.
As for CAT, IRMA is still among the elite B-Schools in India.H hence, Your cracking CAT is very important. The definition of cracking CAT, I leave to you.
Wishing you all the best.
Kind Regards

Hello yaaswanth,
Agriculture engineers have little edge over other candidates.hence, anything above 90 percentile score should be sufficient to secure the seat till you reach for GD-PI process.

Hello Shreyansh
IRMA offers professional management course along with some sociological perspectives. It has 3 wonderfully designed field work components of 45 days which differentiates from other B-schools. In finance, more focus is towards microfinance which is an emerging filed and IRMAns are very good at it, Marketing subjects are more like other B-schools but those 3 field work components help you understand it better. IRMAn professors make sure that you have totally different perspective than that of any other b-school student and we proudly call that IRMAn perspective
Selection is through CAT,XAT exams and then you will have to appear for Irma entrance test. If you pass through all these, you will have to appear for GD-PI.

IRMA exam or popularly known as ISC or Issues of Social Concern tests the candidate's knowledge about the existing as well as proposed government schemes for rural India. After this, the students called for the interview have to undergo a group task (generally a prioritization task in which the group has to come to a consensus), case study presentation (for which 10 min are given to read the case and 2 min to each candidate for presentation), and a final personal interview to complete the icing on the cake! The weightage changes every year but the approximate weight ages are given below
CAT/XAT score: 40%
ISC Test: 10%
Group Task: 15%
Case Study Presentation: 15%
Personal Interview: 20%
Also, reservation for OBS is 27.5% as laid down by Government of India
Best of luck
