Review of JGEC - Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College.

Placements: Earlier, the placement scenario at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College was not very promising. However, there has been a significant improvement since then. In the academic year 2022-23, almost all students were placed. Among core departments, nearly 90% of students found placements, while in non-core departments, the placement rate reached 100% in big companies. The highest package offered was 63 LPA from the CSE department in a Google off-campus drive, while the lowest package recorded s...

This is the best college in my life.

Placements: Our college has successfully placed 60% of students in our course. The salary packages offered range from 3/2 Lacs as the lowest to approximately 10/15 Lacs as the highest. Renowned companies like Larsen and Toubro are among the top recruiters for our course. Additionally, 50% of students secure internships in various other companies through our course.

I am dissatisfied with college administrative faculty members.

Placements: Our college is standard, but campus placements in the core branch are not that good. It is an autonomous institution, so if you have good attendance in the class, you can score good marks in every semester.

I am dissatisfied with the faculty members, but you will get a job here.

Placements: About 40% of the students from our course got placed till now. Still, the placement season is going on. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.2 LPA. CTS visited our college for placements. Very few students got an internship. Infosys and IBM companies invited our students for pool campusing.

Dissatisfied for partiality of the faculty for the students.

Placements: 70% of students were placed in my course. The highest package is 8.5Lpa and the average package is 4.2 LPA. Top recruiting company is CTC. And the top roll offered is SES. 30 % of students got their internship from the company PCS Global. TPO Cell is doing their job in a very good manner.

Overall say good as it is government college so in less money you can acheive your degree.

Placements: For non core department there is a decent placement. Mass recruiter (companies like cognigant, ibm, comes in college). Many are placed in tcs ninjas, Few are in tcs, digital. 3rd year CSE students have ranked 21 in codevita, good coding culture in college. Good help from seniors average package in non core is 3.5 LPA. But for core it is very bad. Very few are placed, poor GATE clearing opportunity due to its location. Internship opportunity is quite well a lot of student has done internship from...

Since it is a government college, you can try it, but it is not going to be worth it.

Placements: Placement rate in the year 2017 was around 90% and falls to 50-60% for IT and CSE department in the year 2018. Right now, placements for the 2019 batch are good. CTS recruited nearly 82 students from our college with an average salary package of 3.50 LPA.

The reality about Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College.

Placements: There are almost no placements in the electronics department. Some IT companies visit the campus, but they hire only CSE students. Most of the time, ECE students leave the hope of placement, and they prepare for GATE and other competitive exams. TCS and CTS are the only hope for placement, and sometimes Wipro and Infosys.

A government engineering college that needs improvement.

Placements: Since the college is placed on the outskirts of any main town, moreover, being far away from Kolkata, companies don't prefer to come to this college, instead, they conduct pool drives in Kolkata where our college is invited to take part. This year, the students got placed in companies like IBM, Cognizant, Amazon, etc.

The senior to junior relationship is unique, in this campus.

Placements: Once at a time, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College was one of the best colleges in West Bengal. But day by day due to its bad infrastructure and poor atmosphere, the companies don't want to visit our campus. But still, the companies that mostly visit our campus are the TCS, CTS, SPCL. In the last two years, other companies like the Tech Mahindra, Kriti Electronics, Coca-cola, Fusion Charts, Erickson, etc. have visited our campus, but didn't provide an acceptable package. But for the core ...

Satisfied with the environment of our beloved JGEC (JOLU).

Placements: A good percentage of students from CSE, IT, ECE are placed at good companies. The companies that visit are TCS, CTS, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, IBM, etc. They also provide a salary package of 3.5 to 8 LPA and more. Mechanical, civil, electrical students get jobs in SPCL, WBSEDCL, WBPDCL, DVC, BEL and in many other private organisations.

Average placements, poor faculty, great alumni support, ragging-free campus, cool weather, etc.

Placements: As far as placements are concerned, for the previous year batch(2017) in mechanical, electrical and civil, the main company to recruit was Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. where 9 students where recruited 3 from each department where the package was somewhere about 4.2 LPA, other than this, last year, the recruitment also saw Bengal Beverages and Ashiana Housing visiting the campus to recruit few students from core departments. Coming to CSE, IT and ECE, the mass recruiter has been TCS For quite some ti...

Placements: JGEC is one of the oldest colleges in West Bengal. I am a 4th year student of CSE department. I am here discuss the current final year placement. First, Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd. visited our college for only civil, mechanical, electrical students. The total number selection was 9 out of 130 (nearly). Next, Fusion Charts visited for all final year students. We want our college as it was just 4 years ago. Dissatisfied with the faculty and less placements.

Placements: Being a government autonomous college, we expect good placements. But the placement of our college is degrading day by day. Our senior batches till 2013 at least got 70% placements, but after that, it is decreasing drastically. Our batch hardly got 25% placements this year and this is never expected from such a reputed government college. The highest salary offered this year was 6.0 LPA and the lowest was 2.1 LPA. Only a few MNCs like CTS, SPCL and Fusionchart visited the campus. But a good per...

It is a very good college that offers a handful of knowledge, skill and personality development.

Placements: In the 2017 year, the placement is average, and it is going on and the package offered by different companies like TCS, Amazon, Kotak Mahindra etc. Almost 85% of students got placed in campus records. About ten companies visited for campus placements. Computer Science and Engineering department is producing a good and qualitative placement since the last few years, and in the CSE department, 95% of students placed.
