KVG College of Engineering is one of the best-known institutions for academic excellence, innovative research, and industry linkages. It has an excellent history of more than 30 years during which it has produced more than 10,000 successful engineers. It boasts of a remarkable placement record, wherein about 90 per cent of students got placed in companies like Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. The UGC (University Grants Commission) has also awarded the college 'the best engineering college in Karnataka'. KVG College of Engineering has a faculty-student ratio of 1:15 and a sprawling campus area of 30 acres. The environment is very conducive for enriching learning for students.

The candidates have to fall within the eligibility range set by KVG College for admission in different UG/ PG Programs. For UG courses, candidates must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. They must also take the KCET or COMEDK UGET entrance examination. For PG courses, they must hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks, and should take up GATE or PGCET entrance exams. The admission process usually starts in May and ends in August. KCET grants approximately 50-60 percent seats, whereas 30-40 percent seats are filled by the entrance examination COMEDK U GET.

In annual terms, the undergraduate tuition fee ranges from 50,000 to 1,50,000. The total annual fees of 70,000-2,50,000 include these costs as well as other expenses. The postgraduate tuition fees range from 30,000 to 80,000 per year, with the overall yearly fees ranging from 50,000 to 1,50,000. The colleges provide approximately 10-15% scholarships to students and around 20-25% give them education loans. Opting for this great college, students are entitled to concession ranging from 5-10 percent in tuition fee if they perform very well academically.

KVG College of Engineering allows direct admission through management quota, which is 20-25% of total seats. Those who have completed their 10+2 with at least 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics would be eligible for direct admission. The admission activities commence in May and last till August. About 15-20% of the seats are for non-Karnataka students while 80-85% of them are for district students. There is also a provision of around 5-10% tuition fee concession for meritorious admission under direct scheme cases.

The college admits students via COMEDK UGET and JEE Main entrance tests; around 30-40% of its seats are filled on the basis of performance on COMEDK UGET, while about 10-15% are allocated on the basis of students' performance on the JEE Main examination. Additionally, the college also admits students under management quota, which constitutes around 20-25% of the total seats. To be able to apply for admission, candidates must have passed the minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects of 10+2.

Meritorious students at KVG College of Engineering can have access to several scholarships offered by the institution, although no guarantee is given for 100% scholarship. Scholarships of 25% to 90% in terms of tuition fees are, however, available for students who are good in academics. Around 10-15% of students receive a 50% scholarship while 5-10% of students can receive a grant amount of 75%. The other scholarships include a 100% waiver of tuition fees for students ranked within the top 1000 in either of the KCET or COMEDK UGET entrance exams. Students coming from economically backward groups also enjoy the government scholarships.
