Q:   What is the minimum cut-off mark to get into the SSN College of Engineering for BTech?

A:

Below are the factors that determine the TNEA cut off:

  • Last year's cutoff trends

Q:   Can I get direct admission at MIT Chennai?

A:

Direct admission to MIT Chennai is not available (this may be disappointing for some). I am absolutely satisfied with placements of our college.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 35 LPA and the lowest salary package is 3 LPA. The highest stipend offered in an internship is Rs.100000 per month and the lowest stipend is Rs.20,000 per month. Around 100% of placements are provided in our college. The placement and training officer is very friendly toward students and helps them in many different ways.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our hostel is very good. The food served in the hostel is very good and unlimited. The hostel warden is strict and does not allow us to go outside or allow inside the hostel after 9 PM.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified, highly knowledgeable, and very friendly. Exams are conducted in a well-disciplined manner. The course curriculum is well defined as a base for further semesters.
Other: Our college offers very good courses. The exam fee is Rs.150 per subject.

    Knowledge through progress.
Placements: Last year in our department itself nearly thirty students got placed top companies in IT field. The highest salary package offered is 6LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3LPA for our placed senior. There are a lot of internship opportunities for students every semester.
Infrastructure: Well established constructed buildings every department has separate seminar halls, library, conference hall, computer facilities with air-conditioned rooms. While we talking about the hostel has it separate cot, a study table with a chair, for every student, and also have a health center with an ambulance. In the canteen tasty and healthy food at low cost.
Faculty: Well experienced staffs are always ready to boost your personality. Very good teaching quality will boost you. This is one of the main campuses of Anna University. So, they follow Anna university's curriculum. Also, our Tamil Nadu government plans to reconstruct our syllabus to international standards. So It will help for your future.
Other: In my case, I unexpectedly opted for this course,e but now I feel that the unexpected is now much more important in my life. Let's talk about the academic face of MIT, every year two fests are organized. There are eight clubs to improve your extracurricular activities. Many scholarships are available for students. Like, such as FFE, FFA, community scholarship, etc.

Madras Institute of Technology is one of the best colleges for placements.
Placements: More than 90% of students got placed in my course. The highest package offered is 75 LPA, the average package is 55 LPA, and the lowest package is 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Defense Research and Development Organisation, ISRO, NASA etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connectivity is provided 24*7 in MIT. Electricity and water supplies are available in all hostels 24*7. Food quality is very good in the hostels and canteens. Medical facilities are available. Apart from studies, sports and games are also available. Many books are available in the library which we need.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and friendly. Their teaching quality depends on the teachers. Teachers are really knowledgeable. This course is not fully curriculum relevant, but it is a creativity-based course. This course makes the students industry-ready.
Other: I like aircraft since my school days. That's why I chose aeronautical engineering.

The curriculum needs to be changed, and the placement rate is declining,
Placements: Over 80% of students got placed. Although it is important to note that better grades always doesn't mean higher opportunities for placements. Packages varied from 4.2 LPA to 7.2 LPA. On average, 4.8 LPA is the package offered. Most of the core companies for aeronautical engineering are of mechanical and computer fields, as there are very few companies that recruit aeronautical engineers. Companies such as L&T, Caterpillar, and TCS were the most common choices. Internship opportunities are high for anyone, and everyone choosing to get an internship gets selected. Caterpillar offered more placements in hands-on designing and development, whereas TCS is software oriented.
Infrastructure: Important facilities and additional facilities such as Wi-Fi, charging ports, and apparatus in labs are excellent. The library is air-conditioned, and the books are well kept. Classrooms are clean and have enough ventilation. Hostel rooms accommodate multiple students. Water and washing facilities are available within the hostel. Food is average, and there are two choices, veg and non-veg in the hostel mess and only veg in canteens, with a choice of simple bakery snacks. On the contrary, the NRI hostel is very good and air-conditioned with excellent facilities, and the food there is also great. Medical facilities are excellent, with an in-house doctor and building reserved for it. Sports and games are also prioritised with a lot of achievements in the past years and very strong teams with ample coaching for a variety of sports.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and highly knowledgeable, but we need to be a little careful to learn the most. Teaching quality is average or sub-par considering it is a government college and taking into account the busy schedule during this pandemic. The course is designed in such a way that students start with familiar concepts and move on to industry-oriented coaching.
Other: I have always aspired to be an aerospace scholar, for my love existed in space and designing. Learning about the various aspects of an aircraft or spacecraft can help us page way for exploring the possibilities in outer space awaiting us. More hands-on experience in aircraft and spacecraft technology during classes will be helpful. MIT is a load of events inside the disguise of a college, Mitafest, Pisboltz, and Athenum are a few of the events conducted in our college.

The worst infrastructure and the worst faculty, good college by name but the worst inside.
Placements: Placement opportunities are not provided well in this college. In our department, I. e, Aeronautical department, Head and faculty members do nothing to get placement opportunities for students. Frankly saying, in the last 8 years, merely 10% students get placed in Aeronautical department, and that also in some IT companies. They don't even arrange Insudtrial visits, and department related programs. Almost nobody gets placed in core companies except few.
Infrastructure: The worst partbof the college. Other department buildings are new, but our department is so old, and everything in department is too. There are no good labs, computer facilities. Aero department does't even have enough classrooms. The classrooms are very old and everything in it too. 50 students have to sit in a room that's meant for only 30 people. Students have to wait outside the department, while another class is going on. Speaking about the hostel infrastructure, 2 out of 10. They charging a lot for hostel, but didn't provide even the basic needs, like water facilities, toilet facilities. There's no study room. Living rooms are not properly maintained. Simply saying the worst hostel.
Faculty: Speaking of course and curriculum, its good. Actually it should be best. In a college with well reputation, like MIT, it should be best. They never allow students to select Optional subjects. They teach some useless subjects, don't let students select subject of his choice. There are some best professors and lecturers in this department. But some inefficient newbies make the name the worst.
Other: Campus is not big enough. On the morning it looks like busy market, lots of crowd. Now they are cutting trees those are in between buildings, and build new buildings, totally they are spoiling the infrastructure. Campus always looks unclean, I mean really unclean. You can't even find a good place to sit. They don't even have a nice xam hall. Exam hall they are using is 60 years old. They provide good connectivity to faculty members, not for students. Sometimes in some places you gets free Wi-Fi. But they add charges to your bills for that also. Festivals are world famous and good. Campus surroundings are useful. Bazzar and lots of shops, hotels, bookstores, xerox shops etc. At the doorstep of college. Very useful. Good thing is they rrally get Scholarships for sc st students. Sports activities is somehow mentionable, but not that good. No Ncc. Nss is just for name. Except annual camps. Yrc is doing somegood works.
