Q:   Is B.Sc. at Michael Madhusudan Memorial College worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and former students, here's what you can expect:

    Teaching Quality and Support
    * The teachers are generally helpful, friendly, and well-educated, providing guidance and resources to aid in studying.
    * However, some students felt that the teachers' absence and lack of engagement impacted learning.
    * Overall, the faculty members receive positive ratings for their approachability and willingness to help.

    Infrastructure and Facilities
    * The college offers modern facilities, including air-conditioned computer labs, spacious classrooms, and a well-stocked library.
    * While some areas require improvement (e.g., toilet maintenance), overall, the infrastructure receives positive remarks.
    * Free Wi-Fi connectivity is available throughout the campus.

    Placement Opportunities and Career Prospects
    * Placement opportunities are limited, and salaries may be relatively low compared to other institutions.
    * Some students reported receiving job offers, while others pursued further education or training.
    * Internship opportunities exist, although these are not guaranteed.

    Course Curriculum and Relevance
    * The course curriculum is relevant for those interested in pursuing research or specialised fields within microbiology.
    * However, some students felt that the programme does not adequately prepare students for industry requirements.

    Student Life and Activities
    * Extracurricular activities, such as sports and cultural events, contribute to a vibrant campus life.
    * The college supports students in developing their communication and critical thinking skills.

    Value for Money
    * Tuition fee discounts have been offered in the past due to circumstances such as the lockdown.
    * While the cost of attendance might seem reasonable, some students questioned the return on investment considering the career prospects and job market demand.

Ultimately, whether B.Sc. at Michael Madhusudan Memorial College is worth the investment depends on individual goals, expectations, and priorities. For those genuinely interested in microbiology and willing to adapt to potential limitations, this institution might offer a suitable educational experience. However, students seeking strong career prospects, competitive salaries, and extensive networking opportunities might want to explore alternative options.

Remember to carefully weigh the pros and cons before making an informed decision.

I am so satisfied with my college.
Placements: I don't know properly about this. But not good as other colleges. Other colleges or provides many type of campusing but we can't get campusing because we are in a subject, in which job is not needed after graduation, because it is waste. Instead I prefer others to do Masters after B.Sc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very nice. We have every type of facilities. In every room we have Wi-Fi facilities, computer lab is bigger. We have a decent library, it gives us average facilities which a student needs. We have a canteen and medical facilities too.
Faculty: Teachers are so helpful and well qualified. And semester exams depends on our preparation. But as a student, we get good guidance from our teachers and exam preparation etc. Semester exam is decent and percentage is 40. By the way I am satisfied.

Michael Madhusudan Memorial is neither so poor nor so good.
Placements: The placement cell of this college has to be better than now. Students don't get the proper placements that they need and are disappointed. They should point to a different division of teachers that are going to look over the placements of students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not so bad but it could have been better. Only the labs have been maintained properly. It's not great but is maintained. The main problem is regarding the toilets and they need to work on the toilets at first.
Faculty: The teachers of the college are good. The teachers are well educated and knowledgeable. But the system of teaching and the projects have to be considered more efficient and better to get results.
Other: Our batch is not very big. It is a small batch consisting of a total of 13 students in the first year but now, we are only 7 students and all the others have left.

As per college fees, everything is on point.
Placements: Companies don't visit us; however, on-campus employment is available, which helps us get recruited by companies like TCS. Most of our seniors are able to get good jobs through their course studies and additional courses, of course. Whatever you choose, I wish you all the best!
Infrastructure: All types of facilities are available in our building, from a wide playground to an air-conditioned computer lab. I'm highly satisfied with the building's infrastructure. All the electronics items are well maintained and in good condition; however, the washrooms are the only ones that need good care.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers were far from being helpful. They are very friendly and well-behaved. Though they sometimes remain absent, that problem diminished as we grew into higher semesters. Internal exams were on point, and exams are balanced—not very difficult, it seems.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Computer Science because I have a great liking for computers and the growing generation's interest in AI and programming.

It provides good infrastructure and genuine teachers who will help students to build their careers.
Placements: I took admission in a pandemic but my few seniors went to good companies and get the fine packages.
Infrastructure: This college has a very large and well-maintained infrastructure. It provides large classrooms and a very good and useful library which has helped me a lot. Because of the corona sport is temporarily off but college provides sports and stuff.
Faculty: In this college, the teachers are very genuine, helpful, and friendly. They get excellent teaching skills. Semester exams are tough but as the teachers taught so well students do not have to worry. The pass percentage is 40 - 50%.
Other: Physics is the only thing I am excited about its a most interesting subject. It is upon students to improve themselves.

Review of Michael Madhusudan Memorial College.
Placements: About 80% of the students from our college got placements in various popular pharmaceutical companies with the highest salary package of 3.6 LPA and the lowest salary package of 1.8 LPA. The average salary package offered to them was 2 LPA. About 50% of students got internships in companies like Wipro, etc. Some students of our course got placed as senior microbiologists.
Infrastructure: Everything like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms and library are available in our college. The quality of rooms provided is very good and maintained with proper hygiene. Here students play many athletics and sports like running, javelin throw and high jump. Most favourite sports of students like cricket and football are played here with NCC.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful and highly qualified. They teach with higher quality. This course curriculum is relevant and makes students ready for the industry. Semester exams are quite tough, and you have to get a minimum of 50% of marks in exams to attend placements.
Other: In Durgapur, this is the best college to study this course. The best thing here is the college provides free extraordinary courses. Many events and fest are held in our college like a fresher party, exhibition, etc.

It is the best college ever.
Placements: Almost 65% of the students from our course got placed. To complete this, we have to pay an average amount of Rs. 55,000. Top food industrial companies like JBS and Nestle visit our college for placements. About 35% of the students from our course get an internship. We have to maintain hygiene, and there are many regulations.
Infrastructure: Our college provides two labs for practicals. There is a large library, where we read all valuable books like microbiology books. Wi-Fi connection is available, which is helpful for us. Mess and hostel facilities are available. The food served is not very healthy, so we should cook ourselves. The volleyball pitch is available, and we love to play this game very much.
Faculty: We have 4 teachers in our department. Teachers in our course are careful of students. They help us a lot by providing study materials. They are PhD holders. The course curriculum is not relevant, and it does not make the students industry-ready. Semester exams are average. The pass percentage is 55%.
Other: Here you can make an idea about small microbes, like bacteria and viruses. In our COVID situation, we should maintain hygiene, and for doing this, we should be more aware of this. My communication skills are developed, and my curiosity about microbes are clean now. Our teachers organise fests in the winter season in famous places.
