The Interior Design programme is offered both for the BDes and MDes courses. At the BDes level, the Interior Design programme is offered under the faculty of Industrial Design, with a specialisation in Furniture and Interior Design. There are currently 13 seats for the programme. At the master's level, MDes in Furniture & Interior Design course is offered at the NID Ahmedabad campus. The intake capacity for the MDes programme is currently 19 seats. Admission to the Interior Design programme (both Bachelor's and master's) at the NIDs will be through the NID DAT exam.

The top-performing student in the Foundation Batch, who secures an open rank of 60 or above in the NID Admission Exam, will receive an INR 50,000 scholarship.

No, the date of birth cannot be changed in the NID application correction window. The candidate will also not be able to edit their name, the programme applied for admission, registered email id, and phone number, in the application form. Note that these details are entered by the candidate at the time of registering for the NID DAT exam. Among the particulars that the candidate is allowed to edit in the NID DAT application form include the exam centre, address of communication, uploaded documents, category under which admission is sought, and any other details not covered in the paragraph above. The candidate needs to go through the list of items that can be edited and that can not be edited before filling out the NID DAT application form to avoid trouble afterwards. The application edit window for NID DAT will open within a few weeks of the closure of the application form.

No, the candidate is not allowed to carry the question paper of the NID exam with them after conclusion of the exam. In fact, the question papers of NID will not be released neither for that Prelims or that Mains. The reason for the non release of the question paper is because the NID question papers are highly subjective in nature. The question paper of NID DAT will be set in English language. Note that the candidate can download unofficial versions of the NID question papers released by the coaching institutes. These question papers will be mostly memory-based, compiled with the help of questions shared by candidates.

The answer sheets of NID will be released by the National Institute of Design (NID) only after the admissions process is complete. No request for answer sheets during the admissions process will be entertained. Note that the answer sheets will be available for one year after the announcement of the final result. The answer sheets can be availed on payment of INR 1000/- separately per exam. Note that to make a request, along with the fee payment, the candidate is also required to upload a copy of their admit cards duly attested by the Invigilator with the seal of the Test Centre.

The sample papers are available in downloadable pdf format. Candidates may note that sample papers contain questions similar to the ones that are asked in the actual exam.

Hi, according to the experts and students, the National Institute of Design (NID) Design Aptitude Test (that) exam is considered to be moderately difficult. The exam consists of two stages of Computer Based Test (CBT). The first stage of CBT includes Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness on Current Affairs. The second stage of CBT includes Part A and Part B. Part A includes Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science & Engineering, and General Awareness on Current Affairs. Part B includes relevant trade syllabus. The exam tests the candidate's Design Aptitude creativity, and problem-solving skills. The exam consists of questions related to general aptitude, creative aptitude, and drawing skills. The exam is designed to test the candidate's ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to design problems. Therefore, while the exam is not very difficult, it requires a good understanding of the concepts and a creative approach to problem-solving.
