Almost every top design school will ask you to showcase your portfolio at the time of the admission interview. So, right after candidates give their Design Aptitude Test (that) for NID admissions, they should immediately start working on building their Portfolio. The portfolio is the backbone of every designer. Portfolio is the documents that showcase your skills, experience and sample of your design. You can also say portfolio is a way how a designer can illustrate their skill and creativeness to the potential client. Being a designer having a portfolio is a must. And yes, of course, showcasing your portfolio is mandatory at the time of admission during the interview. Every design institute will ask the students to exhibit their portfolio. Tips To Prepare Your Portfolio For NID:
1. Tell the story of your sample design: It has been mentioned above also that portfolio is all about showcasing your creative skills and ability. So, it is suggestible that your portfolio is confined around 10 to 15 pages where you add your best work in each page. Ensure that your portfolio includes images that are in sync with your interest.
2. Work on your presentation: Presentation is also one of the main elements to impress the examination panel. It would be impressive if you added the introduction of your project in your portfolio. Ensure that the introduction is not lengthy and complete it in a one-two line. The important of the introduction is that it gives the panel a blunt idea about what to expect in the product that follows without getting overwhelmed in words.
3. Model/Prototype: It would be a plus point if you are good at making model and carry one of your those model to NID exam. It will help in the most effective way to make the panel understand about your thought and process behind the product.
4. Printed or Website-based portfolio: It would be better if you could present your portfolio as a hard copy as it is more effective. As the technology are flourishing in present days, there are many websites where you can upload your portfolio.
