No, you cannot enrol directly in NID Vijaywada or the National Institute of Design in Andhra Pradesh. NID Vijaywada admits students through a two-stage admission test procedure. The first step is the national exam administered by NID, called the Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The interview and design portfolio constitute the second phase. You must have received at least a 50% grade in your class 12 Diploma from an accredited board in order to be eligible for the DAT. Any of the three NID Vijaywada-offered disciplines—industrial design, textile and apparel design, and communication design—may be applied for the DAT.You will be placed for the design portfolio and interview if you pass the DAT. Your design expertise and skills should be on display in your portfolio. You might talk about your reason for pursuing a career in design as well as your design portfolio during the interview.Admittance is extremely competitive; only a small portion of candidates are chosen. On the other hand, your chances of success are higher if you have a strong portfolio and are passionate about design.

The Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme is offered by two prestigious institutes, NID Assam and NID Vijayawada, each one having its special advantages. Which mainly related to the individual interest.NID Assam is the newest member of the National Institute of Design family, having been founded in 2019. Its offers exposure to Northeast India's rich traditions and a dynamic cultural environment. The institute's emphasis on social impact design is in line with the rising need for designers who can support sustainable growth and the welfare of communities. The prestigious B.Des curriculum at NID Vijayawada, which was founded in 2015, places a heavy focus on industrial design, textile and garment design, and communication design. Because of its location in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, it is close to both design-focused companies and developing industrial hubs. Graduates of the institute are prepared for prosperous careers in the design sector by its emphasis on industry-relevant design education. The scope of NID Assam is wider, covering a range of design specialties.Student Culture: To gain a sense of each institute's student culture and atmosphere, visit the campuses, speak with current students, and attend events. If the individual is interested in industrial design then NID Vijayawada is the best option, and if the individual is interested in the broader form of cultural design then the NID Assam is the best option.
