Things one should know about NITJ before taking admission.
Placements: I am in the biotechnology branch, which is research oriented so there are multiple research-oriented companies that visit our college. In this branch, placement opportunities are less as compared to other branches and most students go for research or a higher degree. If you want to go abroad, then you can definitely choose this branch. The average package for this branch goes up to 8–10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The entire campus has Wi-Fi service with good internet speed. The labs in my department are well-equipped as per the things required for experiments but modern equipment is yet to come. The faculty is very supportive and if you behave well with them, then they too will be very friendly. There is a student activity center for students where you can play all types of indoor sports and outdoor facilities are also very good in sports like basketball, cricket, football, badminton, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are well qualified and they are really supportive. If you pay attention to what they are teaching, you will definitely understand, but you have to maintain 75 percent attendance, which is what I do not like. If you want to go into the research field, then you will definitely get lots of opportunities, and to be industrially ready, you have to be very active with teachers and seniors who can help you.
Other: The college is spread over 154 acres and the campus is beautiful. Seniors are very supportive and you will definitely enjoy it a lot as you will meet different people from different parts of India.

It's a ragging free campus which is very beautiful and green .
Placements: I am in the biotechnology branch so the branch is research oriented and there is too much scope for research outside India, so the placement rate is quite low. But in our department, we have some acquaintances; some of them are now working at Microsoft, Amazon and also vice president Morgan Stanley.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good and well maintained but the size is small; it's just 154 acres. But you get every facility in college. Hostel facilities are also good in the second year, but there is an issue for first-year students. Our campus has two libraries and one study room, which is open 24/7. Mess food quality is good enough from another college and free Wi-Fi campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well-qualified; some of them are in the world's top 2% of scientists. Most of the teachers have very good teaching qualities. The curriculum is not so relevant but their are changes in the 1st year syllabus, like Python and branch-related subjects. Semester exams are not so tough. Studying for one night is enough to score well.
Other: I am nearing the 93 percentile in the general category, so I must take this course in another state. There are about three main festivals in our college, like Bharat Dhawan, Techniti and Utkansh. And you can get any kind of club culture.

Less placement but good college life.
Placements: The placement scenario for the 2024 batch has been quite average. Approximately 33% of the students have secured placements. This average placement rate underscores the programme and it need to be improved in upcoming future. The highest package offered to a student from this batch was impressive 18 Lacs per annum. This reflects that the highest package is good. On the there hand the lowest package is 7 Lacs per annum which is also quite satisfying, mostly the students were placed in IT sector and very less core companies came er.
Infrastructure: The college features state-of-the-art lecture halls equipped with multimedia projectors, audio- visual aids, and comfortable seating chair, our college also had advanced laboratories and have all the machines, but many machines were old and not in working conditions. So the need of new machines is required in our institute overall the hostels and campus is quite good.
Faculty: Exams are known for their rigour, testing not only student's knowledge but also very hard to pass here. The exams are easy, but the checking of answers sheet is relatively very hard to pass the examination, so the professors here use the concept of relatively marking criteria and grading, and moderation of grades take place here in order to pass the students otherwise the pass percentage is less than 70%. The professors are knoweldgeful and helpful when reach to them. But many professors are strict here so be careful.

Reality of BIOTECHNOLOGY in NIT Jalandhar.
Placements: Please don't take here admission in biotechnology branch. The placement biotechnology is worse than state engineering college. Many students left the institute in second year from biotechnology course. In 2023 the placement was just 33% which means 7 students out of 47 students were placed in bio technology. Coming here in biotechnology is just waste of time and money. I will suggest you not to come here in biotechnology insist you can join computer Science and engineering in other private or government colleges. But don't waste time here. Neither there is any scope of biotechnology is there in NIT Jalandhar nor placements Not even IT companies are allowing biotechnology, very few companies allowed us and at the end they took 2-3 students. The placement of other branches is good like textile at least 60%, civil 75%, chemical 90%. Moreover here you might face some discrinamation during organsing event if you are from lower branches.
Infrastructure: College has nice buildings, although the building of biotechnology is worse than other buildings. Very less AC and facilities are there biotechnology department. Infrastructure of computer Science and engineering is good followed by ECE, ice and ee buildings. Boys hostels are separate from girls hostel. Boys hostel s there at one end and girls hostel is there other end. Biotechnology labs are very small and sufficient space are there for students.
Faculty: Our core exams are harder than other branches. Very less CGPA secured by the students of biotechnology branches. Syllabus is not very vast but neither have any industry exposure. Exams are conducted thrice a semester and six times in a year. Professors are also does not have very deep knowledge. Most of the professors are guest faculty members as they have not cleared UGC exam. Our department is located far from other departments. Like all departments are together at one side and biotechnolgy at the other end.
Other: Campus life is good, you will make good friends, some are good and some re bad. It's you only have to decide you want to be there in which company. Fest are organised twice a year. Wi-Fi connection is below average in hostels and no Wi-Fi is there in classes.

Review of NIT Jalandhar - Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Our course doesn't offer placements in the core. Students mainly go for non-core jobs like IT, consultant, etc. Around 60-70% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 20 LPA. Around 10-20% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides us with all facilities. Labs are very good with all the required equipment for experiments. The Wi-Fi speed is around 50-200 Mbps. The library and classrooms are good and classic. The food served in the mess is not good.
Faculty: Our teachers are supportive. They are very helpful and well-qualified. Some of them are Ph.D. holders from top IITs. A few teachers graduated from foreign universities. They conduct two minors and one end-semester exam every semester. Sometimes, they are very hectic, but it's manageable.
Other: Our branch is all about life and it's very interesting. I opted for this course because of my rank. Our college organises many fests like Utkansh, technical fests, etc. Our college celebrates all religious festivals, which is very good. In our college, the sports culture is good.
